As far as price is concerned, we're also talking about a $650 OmniaHD available NOW versus a $700 N97 to be available in June. It may or may not happen, but that gives the OmniaHD a much better chance to be even lower than it is now by the time the N97 is launched and to consistently be lower than the N97 as the two phones age.
No, it's not fair to give credit to the N97 in that regard because it didn't bring those features to the table first. The OmniaHD is the first phone with an OLED screen that large, the first phone with HD recording, the first phone to use OMAP3430 (Palm Pre still isn't out yet), the first phone with wireless HD video out, and it's all in the same package. The HTC TouchHD had a 3.8" resitive touch screen (with a higher resolution than both the N97 and the OmniaHD) and 5mp camera over a year ago, as well as the 256mb of RAM and a faster processor. The only thing Nokia has done is taken that idea and added a physical keyboard (ala TyTN II, Touch Pro, Touch Pro2) and increased the storage space. The rest of the tech they're using is OLD.
