*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

so much like the n82 with the black version...the white version of the n97 will not drop right away...first it will be the black one...and the white one will follow some months after???

$1000 is my budget. I'll probably have to end up ordering it online unfortunately tho simply because I'm under the assumption that SN Traders will have it first and they will charge something astronomical for it (Don't believe me, they are currently selling the N96 for $836CDN)

I doubt that very much. The way they hyped this thing it was crazy. They are betting the house (high end smartphones) on this phone.

The news really doesn't surprise me much. In as much as the hardware disappoints, I have even less faith in the software.

The TP2 can be tilted as various angles, which is great because it allows me to just slide it flat 80% of the time and tilt it for the 20% of the time when I would want to tilt it.

The downside is that I am sure this means it is likely that the hinge isn't as robust as the N97.

What's with the short life span of Flagship devices?

Yesterday my N96 was still the Nokia's Flagship phone and now this N97.. :crying:

Rogers has a very slim chance of picking it up. They did pick up the N95 8GB and almost picked up the E71.

at&t? I'd put the chances of that happening the same as my Chargers making the playoffs.

Since my T-Mobile contracts run out in July, I should be able to buy the 3rd gen iPhone, sell it on ebay for a large profit and then buy the N97.

I don't think anyone who has bought the N85 or N96 should feel bad. They'll get at least 6 good months use out of it if they don't get easily distracted by something else.

i doubted a new phone would be annouced. i'm glad something came out. It's a better flagship than the N96. Nothing amazing in the world of phones but it's a big thing for Nokia and the Nokia fanboys.

I'm really glad they put at least triband 3G but still wish it were quadband

Well here the prices do not go down, here the prices actually have gone up.

The E71 is about (US) $475 and the 5800 $435.

The iphone 3G pricetag is $828 and the N97 is set to about the same when released.

Looks sharp, but I don't trust Nokia's renderings.

I'm curious about that pedestrian view mode pictured above though. Looks interesting.

It's as simple as this: altho I hate to say it..unless the Ovi store mimics what Apple has done with Itunes...nuff said. Iphone's dependapility on Itunes sux but I have to say, the presentation and functionality of Itunes is huge

Just an FYI guys.

Tried cancelling my preorder with Nokia today. They said they cant cancel it and the only way to get my money back is to refuse the shipment. After they receive the phone back it will take around 20 days to refund my money. So with shipping back and forth they will be holding over $700 for a month......or longer.

I have never heard BS like this in my life and I shop online religiously. I am furious and I never expected something like this from Nokia.
