Bad anime : The animation, the writing, and just plain out bad.

Enough of this pointless bickering.

Can't we all just get along... by unanimously agreeing that Final Fantasy Unlimited was a terrible, terrible anime?

What actually drives me nuts is a lot of series have some really bad portions of them that generally detract from the series as a whole.

Almost every series known for being one of the better series has encountered this problem.

DB, DBZ, Bleach, Naruto, Naruto: Ship .... just to name a few.

Its quiet annoying to see a really good series be largely bench marked by some of the worst moments, often times due to filler.

I think anyone would agree when these series are free to burn through as much Manga as they desire for any episode, the series is just phenomial (case and point: Beginning of Naruto: Ship). But when they are constantly fighting catching up to the Manga, the series falters and begins to fail . Its not just filler mind you, it's also the pressure on the Manga Writer.

Good works come with time, Good works become bad works when they are rushed.

My Otome was an utter travesty. It copied the characters from My Hime and pasted them into a completely different setting with a convoluted plot and no shortage of fanservice aimed at the pervy otaku crowd. A truly pitiful exploitation trying to cash in on a predecessor that could at least claim to be halfway decent.

Grenadier was Trigun with a stupid plot and a well-endowed birabo for a main character. Truly pathetic. It's amusing that it was ever licensed.

This Ugly Yet Beautiful World failed to get to the point for the 4 to 5 episodes that I saw of it. Odd alien girls come out of nowhere and have to be taken care of. You have a protagonist that manifests super powers in one episode and destroys some alien monsters, and then it gets forgotten about for awhile. And the reaction one has is "whatever." It never seemed to make an effort to build toward anything. It was billed and marketed as Gainax's 20th anniversary project at the time, so it's disappointing that it turned out to be so...disappointing. I couldn't find it interesting, much less remarkable.

Filler's not always bad. I like the filler of the Saiyan Saga. It shows Gohan's progression from coddled child to mature fighter. He still has some more growing up to do, but the manga doesn't do the greatest job with the transition.

The problem with filler isn't that it takes up space, but when it doesn't further the plot or character in any way. The Saiyan Saga filler was good for the most part, but stuff like fake namek was bad because nothing happened. They were no worse or better off for having landed there.

I actually liked that....at first. Then it started to suck.

It was about when they got into the aquatic maze when I truly realized how terrible it was.

Just because there are people that dislike Eureka Seven doesn't mean it's undisputedly considered 'bad'. The fact that you lump it in the same category as Mouse is especially ridiculous. While yes, it is all subjective, I highly doubt that most people hate Eureka Seven as much as you seem to. At the very worst it's generally seen as an okay show with a slow beginning. I don't know where you've been where E7 is seen as an abomination comparable to the likes of Mouse and Eiken, but again the reality is that it is generally well liked and seen as a solid show. Movie's flaws aside, I doubt people would go to an out of the way theater and drop almost $13 a ticket for a movie based on a series they hate.

You're free to your opinion, Beat, but the way you go on about it one would think the Nirvash stepped on your house or something.

Oh god, This Ugly yet Beautiful World was an awful show. I can't believe I forced myself to swallow all 12 episodes of that. Maybe I watched it just because it was so short and I felt it would get better.

The real plot didn't even hit till like the end.

My only nominee, far and away: The Super Milk Chan Show, U.S. Version.

While the original Super Milk Chan episodes may have been super-hilarious to their Japanese audience, IMO, the humor simply did not translate intact over here. So, what was hyped by ADV as "the Japanese Ren & Stimpy/Rocky & Bullwinkle/Whatever" just did not and could not deliver as promised. (Milk Chan was so cute whenever she cursed like a demented sailor? Songs of praise to Belgian waffles? The landlord was frightened of the living Michael Jackson? The President never had to have the flies buzzing around his head collected and weighed? What humor? Heavy sigh...)

Lol, This Ugly yet Beautiful World was one of those shows where you have no choice but to fast-forward through most of it (including entire episodes) till the interesting or actiony parts happened, there was too many scenes where literally nothing (interesting or plot related) happened.

Thought of one.

Aura Battler Dunbine is one of those shows that I force myself to like because it seemed like it should have been so much better than it ended up. Two-thirRAB of the way in, the series turns into a giant-robot version of Gilligan's Island, except that instead of

"Hey, maybe they'll actually make it off the island this time!"

it's

"Hey, maybe they'll actually take down that enemy capital ship this time!"

instead. Something like fifteen utterly forgettable, repetitive episodes in a series that had actually been really good to that point. Then to compensate, it gets a rushed ending that takes a not-so-valiant stab at hitting the audience where it counts, but enRAB up being simultaneously mind-boggling and unsatisfying.

But the first half or so was awesome, and you should all watch it. No, really. I mean it this time.

I do watch Kai.

DBZ left a bad taste in my mouth, as I watched it via VHS tapes and then find Gohan does jack dooky against Buu in the end. Freakin 30 bucks a tape, man!

Well that's just Douglas Adam's opinion, but his opinion is not a fact, because opinions aren't facts period. all that tells me is that hes one of those guys so full of himself that he actually thinks his opinions are superior to other peoples, when opinions are in no way facts.

Just cause something is supported by logic does not make it true, it has to be suported by facts or else its nothing more than well, an opinion (and those are entirely subjective or whatever the word im looking for is). facts =/= opinions.

The worst part about filler is that you're thinking, "none of what is happening in this filler is going to affect anything at all" the whole time while you're watching it.

The anime version (Well, the red jacket series) is kind of the durab down version of the original manga series. Its not bad (Make it, its pretty damn good), but its not fully like the original manga.
And how you describe Mouse manga is pretty much like Lupin III. Kinda.
The manga series, is a good load of sexual humor, action, and adventure. But, its not like a series. Most of the chapters are one parters. Its almost like watching a 15 min episode; A beginning, a middle, and an end.
Its rare to see a two parter chapters. And in some chapter, Lupin's frienRAB become the back stabber.
Lupin III in the manga is a master thief. He just want the money, get the girls (By force sometimes) and have fun.
So, Mouse is kind (Even mostly) like Lupin III, but...Something. I never read the manga, so Mouse could have some difference between Lupin III. But, I don't know.

Anyways, back in topic.
Oh, bad anime, how about Powerpuff Girls Z. Like I said in DBGT: the idea was good, but how it was shown...Not really.
The idea of mixing PPG and anime sounded great. But, after watching a few episodes of PPGZ, .
They change the character original story of how the became the PPG.
Some of the characters acted different from the original.
The jokes wasn't all that funny.
And the show felt to girly to me.

I do somewhat agree. But hey, maybe thats the japanese dry comedy type of humor. I bet no all of the japanese will get are dry type of humor. Like...King of the hill. I know its shown in Japan. But, something tells me not all of them gets it. Some, but not all.

True, the Cell and Buu saga didn't really have anything to do with the DragonBalls unlike the Saiyan & Frieza saga.
But at least in the Cell and Buu saga have this pasing unlike DBGT sagas. In DBZ, it didn't felt rush or force (That much I mean).
DBGT saga's was like, BAM! BAM! BAM!
And everytime a filler episode comes out in DBGT, that filler felt out of place.
There was one episode where baby Vegeta was about to blast Goku and than Kibito Kai came out of no where and tried to save Goku from that blast. Kibito Kai does same him, but drop him by accident to a different dimension. Goku find himself playing a game and have to win the game to get out. That little filler just came out of no where. It felt so out of place.
I know it was explain, but still. It didn't felt right.

And the whole Super Saiyan 4 thing. Really, the only way to become S.S.4 is by becoming a Super Saiyan Great Ape than becoming S.S.4? How did Goku and Vegeta get thier pants back? Really, how? I can take the whole S.S.3 hair style thing, but S.S.4? So many holes need to be explain.

but it can help fill gaps with better characterization. Like the manga went from gohan being a helpless child (point A) to being a competent fighter, albeit a scared one at times (point B). It gets from a to b within a few issues. The anime shows the journey a lot better. Some of it is redundant though.

Even within the manga, there's stuff that can be considered filler. Much of that has to do with Toriyama just writing. It doesn't seem like he plans his stories out well enough.

I will kinda agree the filer episodes in the Saiyan was pretty good. I really did enjoy it. But the later filers in DBZ...No. The great Saiyanman saga, what the heck?!

The reason why I like the Freiza so much because it explain a lot about Goku's race. DBGT, like I said, the plots just pop out of no where. It really didn't gave any hints or mystery what was going to be the next saga. Well, maybe the Baby saga did ok, the others didn't.

And also Super Saiyan 4! I mean really, why leave it at 4? It just get me so mad. The how Goku and Vegeta became S.S.4, thats lazy writing.

DBGT could have been good or even decent, but it didn't.
