Unpopular Music Opinions

I disagree with this, but the studio vs. live argument certainly applies to Weezer: They're absolutely horrible in concert, easily the worst "big act" I've seen in person.

For me, a great, freewheeling live act is (obviously) preferable but at the same time you have to display something reserabling your albums.

Yes, there are exceptions --- I know replicating something like "Bohemian Rhapsody" live is pretty much impossible -- but at least prove you're more than some studio creation.

I think the Peel Sessions were some of the best things they ever did. Oddly enough both Sumner and Hooky think that Unknown Pleasures 'wasn't all that' and almost dislike the album!

Bitchy ;) Drake was authentic. He made 2 albums and then he basically said I have one more left in me, after that I've given all I've had to give. (Even though killing himself REALLY meant that he'd given all he had to give.)

That's more authentic than making ten recorRAB just because you can.

How can an opinion be objective? How can a personal non-science based thought or feeling be objective? That would be like having an objective hate or an objective gladness. It just isn't really something which holRAB the properties of falsifiable factuality and thus isn't really objective in nature.

Gloryland by Daryl Hall & the SounRAB Of Blackness for USA 94, or at least the first 60-90 seconRAB of it, is the best football song of all time. So there!

Gotta agree with all the Gang Of Four-loving vibes around here as well. Entertainment's one of my favourite albums ever, even if it's not quite as immense as Y.

100% correct, these are all measurable facets of sound. However, good isn't measurable. You're right when you say your opinions are based on objective fact, but you're wrong in the statement that your opinion is objective fact. See the difference? Your preference comes from measurable sound qualities and objectively observable structural preferences, but "good" is an abstract and in this case means "pleasing" which will differ from person to person. Your opinion isn't 100% correct all of the time for everyone, and therefore isn't objective fact.

If we use distortion and bass to measure how good music is than Oomph! must really love Komprex.

Zakk Wylde is a ****ing great musician. I think this is unpopular, especially around here. Though it's rare that Zakk's mentioned on rab, any time he is, people just hate on him.
I love everything the man has released with BLS, excluding most of the album Shot To Hell. I'm not as big a fan of his stuff with Ozzy, but he did create some great shit in the time he was with Ozzy.

What in the f*ck are you talking about?

Your speakers must really suck, maybe you have to strain yourself to hear the bass in their earlier stuff. But certainly not for Revolver, Sgt Peppers, Magical Mystery Tour, The White Album or Abbey Road. Some of the best bass work you will find there.

I only make serious attacks towarRAB someone's taste when it's someone I already immensely dislike, like Captain Caveman or Ethan.

I didn't intend for the Enya thing to be an insult, was just a playful dig, I don't mind Enya really. New age isn't my thing (unless Mike Oldfield counts) but it's listenable.
