Is this offer available to existing customers?
I'm looking for the best deal on a HD PVR from BEV.

From what I can see, they are not offering this to existing customers....

Why is it such a pain in the a$$ to get a used receiver added to an account? Why does the original owner have to call BEV to tell them they're in the process of selling it? I figured I could have called up with the receiver number/card number and transfer it to my account???? Do they want to try and convince the previous owner to sign up again??? Makes no sense to me whatsoever......

Make sure the unit was not tampered with or modified as the 6000 was a popular unit for such purposes.

For someone that complains about Bell's piracy problem as much as you do, it's surprising you had no problem contributing to it. Anyone willing to pay $500 for such an old receiver is obviously going to do something nefarious with it.

If the receivers do not belong to you (as I understabd the situation is) and you don't have the PIN for the client we are unable to provide ANY information on the receivers. Agent you spoke to did his job right! I appologise the answer doesn't satisfy you...but policies are what they are!

I just took a moment and checked...still shows 14 and I know the two 2700s and the three 6000s have been activated by friends on their own accounts.

Those recievers...when you activate one it stays on your account forever, active or inactive under your name...it matters not. they never go away.

I'll bet there is some IRD out there that has changed hands numerous times and is showing on three or more accounts...as inactive.

Bell is so screwed up in their manner of accounting for IRDs.

No, they abandoned it. My correspondence asking about the disposition dates back to Oct/06. Even though I legally own it now, I'm not going to get into an argument with them. It looks like the easiest course of action for me is to put it into the back of a closet or take a sledge hammer to it before putting it into the garbage.

Like you say, the dish is not identifiable so I'll sell it.

Too bad I can't make a few buck off of them for the intolerable amount of aggravation they cause.

Why would I risk having the receiver deactivated by ordering PPV's, for now I am happy to get the HD & SD Movies.

I recently put out an ad to sell my 5900 PVR. One person who has replied has asked for the receiver or smart card number to confirm that there are no charges or anything owing on the receiver. Just wanting to know if this is information that I should be giving out to a total stranger before I proceed. Thanks.

Even if the 6100 comes with a Card it could still be the older version and you will then have to wait after activation for Bell to ship out a new one. Takes around 5 to 7 business days.

For the Card to be valid it needs to begin with S06*********.

If this is your first venture into Bell HD, do not forget that you can get a free installation...

Where do you get the idea they do not belong to me??? If you read above, as I said I paid the people for there boxes most of the time or they just give them to me because they are just happy to get rid of them. The majority of the time the customer does get it out of his name for me, But I can not hang around his house to listen and make sure when he finally gets thru to Bell to clear the title.

That is typical Bell double speak. Where do you see any harm by telling me if the unit is clear to re-sell??????? If I was a Bell customer with an active account, they would tell me right away! But I am not, just a lowly installer trying to do the right thing and put these units back in service, but your POLICY (stinks) lacks a whole lot of common sense.
So why can a Bell customer find out or a Bell dealer and I can't?

I really don't want to put them on Ebay I hate TV, just because I am in the business and make my living installing etc. So I think I will contact CBC (they cover my town) then maybe the CRTC too and if they don't care as Bell does not seem to care where their use equipment goes.... Then I may as well sell to the highest bidder.

cheers

If receivers do not have card in or card is damaged you have to pay the 69$ charge to get a new one

If card is just outdated, old version then you get it free

I just sold off two of my never activated 3100s. Been sitting around for almost two years and I actually bought them for $79 for the pair (3150 box...I needed the dish and one LNB) almost two years ago.

The guy had no problem activating them (well they were never activated before!!!) and now I have a couple hundred to spend on another new HD box.

I would be very interested in the 9200 refurbs at $299. Anyone have a number that I can call as there are no Bell stores here!!!!

arby read past posts from Agent Express V almost exclusively follows the company line blindfully.

Not knowing how to sanitize the receiver and remove all links back to me, it's just not worth the money.

Thanks to everyone for their input.

Unless the seller really questions the charges we won't do a big investigation and lots of agents don't know how to find out which receiver gave the charge

Altought it is not a reason for you of course to go ahead and order 20 dirty movies tonight...
