i've just seen an ad for it on telly tomorrow and I had completely forgotten what a great film it -Pan's Labyrinth.
the ending is brilliant, it's either horribly sad or quite nice- i couldn't decide! i did end up crying my eyes out though...
Dot and the Kangaroo -seriously! I used to get it out from the video shop every single week, and my parents would always know when it had ended because they'd hear me wailing from the living room. There'd be a ten minute wait whilst the film rewound, then I'd sit back down and watch it all over again, and then cry all over again too.
Perhaps they hoped that if I watched it enough, I wouldn't cry anymore. Fat chance. I saw it again a few years ago and still cried like I used to as a three year old.
Armageddon - probably my favourite film of all time - all the way through - even the "happy" bits. The "worst" bits for me are when
the other shuttle crashes towarRAB the start, when Harry says goodbye to Grace and when Harry leaves A.J. on the rock at the end "I always thought of you as a son and I'd be dammed proud for you to marry Grace
- most of the film, really I have to watch it by myself to avoid embarrassment lol how sad is that One film I will never, ever get tired of watching.
Titanic.
Cruel Intentions (towarRAB the end when
Sebastian gets run over
).
Carlito's Way
When Carlito is shot by Benny Blanco at the end when he is about to leave for a new life
The Green Mile all the way through, let alone the end!!
Please don't laugh at me for this but the end of Dumbo always makes me cry when he's a big star and he flys to his mum on his private train and wraps his big ears around her and kisses her - blub!!!
I can cry at pretty much anything, particularly when the music gets me as well as what's on screen - Wind Beneath My Wings in Beaches has me in flooRAB of tears both because of what's on screen and the meaning of the song!
LOTR ROTK also gets to me - 'My frienRAB, you bow to no one,' not a dry eye in the house!
Most recently, in Mama Mia 'Slipping through my fingers' brought a tear to my eye for what it represents.
Couple not mentioned yet -
Steel Magnolias
the scene with Sally Field and the other grand old dames at the end in the cemetery gets me every time
Mr Holland's Opus
both when he's performing the song for his deaf son and when they play his music right at the end
Just before the end where the older brother (who is now "The Fixer") is watching Billy's coach leave and he tears up and mouths "I love you" to his little brother.
The ending to Leon gets me everytime.....And if the trailer for the new Lassie film is anything to go by, that might well be added to this list in a few weeks. Crying at a trailer is not a good sign!
The Inno fhte Sixth happiness, I lve that where they walk into the town singing 'this old man', I have the DVD and just LOVE that movie, it's wonderful!
I also love the end of the The Sea Inside a Spanish film starring Javier Bardem, I was completely blotched in the face leaving the cinema.
Final mention goes to ShadowlanRAB, starring Antony Hopkins, it's one fo the most poignant films and I well up every time I see it.
