George and mildred

Well if they ever want a clear-out, you know where I am!

There is already a rising damp book out - its about 10 years old. Its called Rising Damp : A Celebration by Richard Webber. ;)

I shall definitely be buying it but I'm wondering how definitive it will be without input from Mr O'Sullivan

I'm well chuffed to see its a hardcover too.
So many of these types of books are softcover so you have to be so careful with them to keep them in good condition

I've never watched G&M although i have seen the film.I've just noticed that there were only 38 episodes. For some reason i thought there would have been more than that.

`Hey,hold up!`leave dear Reg Varney and Co alone-the show was magical and the writing superb.
This is further proof that we all enjoy different things-I say,`let`s celebrate diversity`
I like G&M but it is nowhere near (for me,anyway)as good as `on the buses.`
Hilda Baker was indeed a genius-she always had me in stitches-she could make a very indifferent situation into a dreamlike comedy moment.
Jennifer Kersey

I recall reading about him going into a nursing home a long time ago and wondered what the reason was.

I'd love to see a cast reunion of some kind for the 3 connected shows .

I did try sending an email to ROS a couple of years back , care of the place he was staying in but I never got an acknowledgement.

Would he be well enough for an interview.
I'm sure he would have some stories to tell .

He was even in Carry On Teacher.

I'll pick that up just for his commentary even though I already have the US dvd of it

It's still weird to see Brian Murphy as a sadistic, debauched priest in Ken Russell's meisterwork The Devils.

" eeee, isn't that George from George and Mildred, is Yootha Joyce in it too ? "

You are right, you wouldn't get away with that today, but it is fairly tame in 70's standarRAB.

Love thy Neighbour  Now that can be very cringe-worthy...

If you have Sky, you can see Take a Letter Mr Jones on the Film 24 channel - is it Sky 157? It's on a few times each week, man - what a title sequence!!! Compared to today's titles, it's an epic!!! The show's ropey, cory and dated...but you have to laugh at john Inman!

Wonderful about this great being back on television. I love Yootha Joyce, she is a great actress. George and Mildred deserve a prime time slot!
Im really looking forward to the new book too!
