they served my chicken and dh's sorta steak on a sizzling in butter metal
palate with a wooden outer thingy...

I'm one of the lucky people who knows where Ruth's Chris comes from.
The original Ruth's Chris Steak House was in New Orleans. Ruth
Fertel was a gutsy woman who took over an existing steak house and
turned it into a wonderful thing. Her methodology of cooking the
steaks is what made them famous. They were served to you on a
heated metal platter nested in a wooden trencher. The steak came to
your table actually sizzling in butter..perfectly cooked and meltingly
tender.

Ruth died in 2002 and the company has done the usual corporate
expansion at the expense of the original quality and class.

Most people don't know that upstairs over the restaurant there was a
poker game going on most of the time.

Does his motive matter if it stimulated an on-topic (food) thread? I
occasionally travel to Chicago and like hearing about the places and foods I
haven't yet tried.

Chicago used to be the place to find a great steak, it isn't anymore?

WTF does that have to do with anything?

Focaccia is nothing like Chicago deep dish pizza.

We had someone come to our Jr. High to demonstrate making pizza. I can't
remember what organization they were from. They used cheddar cheese and
tuna. It was very good and I'm not a pizza lover!

The person is most likely PHYSICALLY in the U.K. according to his IP

have any international offices, in Chicago or elsewhere, it is my
stance that he is not in Chicago as he indicated.

I think you'll easily find more good eating than hotdogs there,
Richard. Stroll along, read the menus, and pick a place that appeals
- that's my favorite way to shop for a restaurant. What one person
loves, another will think is barely so-so... especially when searching
for the quintessential xyz. But if you're up for a spendy night, take
Goomba's advice and try out one of the Rick Bayless restaurants.

Like squirts. You can go out on the street, go to any slum and find a
nasty, foul mouthed little 10 year old and hear anything that's likely
to fall out of squirt's mouth.

Look at how many socks he has. He'll do anything for attention.

Stinks of troll.

Lets put it this way, everywhere has better food then the UK. but you
already knew that.
