Albums You're Digging II

The moment Peter Garret joined the Labour party was the moment I lost all respect for him and saw what a hypocrite he is.

But I do love Midnight Oil. I saw them at a music festival once, too.

ELO, Out of the Blue- sometimes campy and cheezy, but catchy nonetheless with underlying complexities that keep it fresh

Carole King, Tapestry- King's soulful lyrics convey powerful emotions of longing through mainstream music that avoiRAB being cliche- a great listen

The LemonheaRAB, The Best of The LemonheaRAB- great early 90's punk, reminiscent of The Replacements- the band's often sarcastic lyrics make this a winner

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilian - one of the best albums of the year

The Antlers - Hospice

Joanna Newsom- YS

These albums are all amazing.

The Smiths - Hatful of Hollow

My Smiths appreciation is finally growing. I think it had to do with listening to this at the park last weekend.

Yeah, for my mind it has the best of all things U2 can do..... dance / electronica, mixed with balladry and all out rock nurabers. Some may see it as an oddity or a bitsa album rushed out during a long assed tour, but for my mind it's one of their most, carefree, solid and throughly enjoyable pieces. Rivals Achtung Baby for my fave U2 album.
