Albums You're Digging II

The Roots - How I Got Over (2010)

Really enjoying their latest album, it's got a great balance of jazz, funk, soul, hip hop, and even some indie rock without feeling inconsistent. All in all this may actually be my favorite hip hop album of 2010.

Les Chats Renaissance - Hermaphrodites

A concept album about hermaphrodites by a glam rock psychadelic prog band ... In French.

No matter who posts after me nobody will ever post anything this cool.

:D

Wow, Nurabernine you really sound like you know your world music. You should send some stuff if you have anything that you think is better then this, been trying to get into more world music but I'm honestly having a bit of a time adjusting. For me at first it was mind blowing, but after an hour it was sort of annoying... like The Mars Volta. Have any suggestions?

That's great, I'll definitely search for that. I have one unofficial compilation that some blogger did with lots of these banRAB. I'll send you that one if you want, before we find the official one.

Ween - Pure Guava

Experimental, Psychedelia, Lo-fi with lyrics that talk about their drug experiences as well as every day things in life. Really great album.

Wilco "Kicking Television: Live in Chicago"
One of my favorite live albums of all time, the presence of Nels Cline in the band is a major addition. He brings a new take on all the classic Wilco songs post-alt-country.
Favorite Songs: Nearly all of them.

There's a lesson somewhere in there ;)

I have an irrational mistrust of torrents myself - for a start, I can never figure out how to get them to work, and also my brother had his computer royally buggered up by some virus he picked up from one, so that doesn't exactly help my impression of them either.

Sigur Ros are dull beyond belief. To me, anyway.

Idlewild - The Remote Part
4061-the-remote-part.jpg

One of the oldest CRAB in my collection I still listen to. As of today anyway. Got this sometime around the time of release in '02, and it must have been at least 5 years since I last gave it a spin. Pretty cool stuff, especially during the slower moments. I'm almost tempted to start thinking about my journal here again now...

Incredible pop music, really. Miles ahead of the later Ben FolRAB Five releases, and most likely any of his new work (sorry!). It makes perfect use of a few stereotypes in music (the ba ba ba's, cussing).
