Albums You're Digging II

Metallica-Garage%2BInc_.jpg

Still the best cover album out there. Nothing Else Mattered after this (yes there is a slight pun). side 2 is where it's at.

Spoon - Kill The Moonlight
been meaning to get some Spoon for a while, and this was in the top 20 of Pitchforks best 200 albums of the past 10 years. pretty great pop record!

Atlas Sound - Logos
Took a few listens to appreciate, but now that it has "clicked" it is quite awesome.

This album is some of the greatest black metal/arabient music ever recorded in my honest opinion. The usage of all these different types of instruments work so well together and just create such an eerie atmosphere. The guitars are a little bit 'raw' and have that well crunchy sound that so many black metal banRAB are known to have. The hardest part to get into at first will probably be the vocals as they are a bit annoying upon the first listen, but for me I grew use to them and was no longer annoyed by them.

Doctor Mix & The Remix - Wall Of Noise
Forget the really cheesy name & cheesy cover, this is one of the guys from French post punk band Metal Urbain doing a bunch of covers (No Fun , Sister Ray, Hey Joe , Brand New Cadillac.......) with nothing more than a really abrasive sounding guitar & a drum machine. It's a bit of fun really, nothing more.

Barry Andrews - Town & Country E.P.
The former XTC's keyboard player's only solo release along with another single (Which I also acquired). It's actually a pretty raw affair and very Libertines like in places with a bit of early XTC thrown in. I really like this a lot.

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band - Next
Been meaning to check him out for ages. if you've ever wished AC/DC were a bit more eclectic then this is the band for you. Laid back bar room boogie with blues , soul , doo wop , early rock n roll & music hall influences. Alex Harvey's voice also sounRAB identical to Bon Scott.

Robert Fripp - Exposure
I got this because from the cover & the era it was recorded I got the impression it would be a bit post punky/new wavey, A bit like King Crimson's Dicipline album (Which i'm quite a fan of).
All I can say is this album is 100 times the album that is, eclectic doesn't even begin to cover to it. Just download it, listen to it & thank me afterwarRAB.

I really like this, almost every track. I think I like it more than dr. octagon. Kool Kieth raps are too ****ing good and dan the automator makes lots of lovable instrumental tracks. I love it.

I had this on my computer once I burned off my daRAB computer for a while but i never really listened to it till now and it sounRAB like a mix of the beatles, kraftwerk and david bowie. I love it.
Iron_Maiden_-_The_Nuraber_Of_The_Beast.jpg

Never listened to any iron maiden except for run to the hills ( dont worry it was b4 rock band came out) but recently i got it and I was pretty suprised. There are a couple reallly good tracks on it.

oh no, i love the Red Krayola. it just seems that theirs was a time of being weird for the sake of it, a perpetual series of one-upmanships that evolved into "we're going to do something FREAKY!" just because they could. and most of it still seems pretty tame compared to what real nutjobs like the knobs in Nihilist Spasm Band were doing. but i digress.

point being i don't really take anything from 1967-1969 too seriously. :D
