8/3 is a big day for Cricket

$55.00 a month flat for the android plan including talk text pix obviously web and I hear that it's goin to have the google navigation too so that's gonna be sweeet! With t-mobile its $50 a month for unlimited talking + another $30 to add data and text thats $80 + tax! With cricket your going to save like $30 a month!

So the people at the Cricket Facebook page have been saying that 8/3 will be a big announcement day for Cricket. The dealers here probably already know this but I thought I would share for anyone that hasn't heard. I guess at least we should know the status of the smartphones on 8/3 and most likely the required plan pricing (my guess is that the Blackberry plan is going to be more expensive than the Zio, this is how it is on Virgin Mobile because they have to pay RIM for their push email and other services).

So we just have to wait 19 days for our questions to be answered.

Metro AWS BB been out for couple of days, sam 4g aws also should be out in Aug along with the Zio these should be a couple of phones to consider to be flashable. Price for the BB 8530 is $279 on metro website or you could buy in wall mart online for $250 and best thing of all theyre all AWS.

Oh, if the 4G Samsung is coming out in August I might want to wait and see what that's like before jumping to get the Zio. Then again, if I remeraber correctly, the Samsung isn't going to run Android, so I might prefer 3G Android rather than 4G Samsung OS. Oh, too many decisions!

Well they're having a conference today. They're briefing distributors and what not on the new plans, phones, etc. I thought he might be there. So naturally, I expect a concrete release date to leak today.

I just went to mycricket.com and saw the Blackberry Curve 8530
Question is they are advertising a Blackberry Plan for $60 half of Verizon and AT&T. But I already have a Sprint Flashed to Cricket Blackberry Curve 8530 with talk+text+web+international calling for $50-$55. So what is this blackberry plan?

I think some people have already been to the meeting and gotten told the 6th for the release date but I'm sure we'll get something 100% final soon enough like you said. We definitely know that it's going to be announced August 3rd though. Cricket has even said that more information is coming then. :)

Yep! Some distributors have been briefed, etc things like that. This conference today is the first "official meeting" I've heard of though, so let's keep fingers crossed. I need this phone bad, haha.

I really do want it, but I'm not sure if I'm going to get it or not. I signed up for the Cricket list a while back for the free overnight shipping, which would be a nice bonus, but I don't think I want to jump and get the phone right away. I might want to wait and see that the reviews for it are like first. It definitely looks like it has improved since the first video we saw of it.
