8/3 is a big day for Cricket

That's true! I'm just trying to see if it's worth spending at least $200 on. I mean, other Android phones, like the Samsung Moment, might continue to drop even new, on Ebay. If it drops enough, it might make more sense to get that on Boost CDMA or something. The phone would probably be much more solid. At the same time, MetroPCS should be launching their Android phone next month, so that might be a possibility too. I don't want to choose something and be sorry I did. So, I'm trying to take it slow. :)

Sorry for the three posts in a row! :(

What is the list of smartphones expected to arrive 8/3 ?
I've heard about the Blackberry Curve 8530
and from reading other's posts the Droid Zio

I am looking to purchase a Sprint Blackberry Curve 8530 and just flashing it over to Cricket, but I don't know yet if it will be fully flashed. Should I just wait for the 8/3 ????

Well a source did tell me they are testing out 4g in some markets but that's not the companies main concern, and not to get too happy about it either because it'll be a while before the decide to go big with that project.

The Kyocera Zio and the Blackberry Curve are expected to be dated on August 3rd, not released. The release will be sometime mid-August is what I'm hearing. Those are the two smartphones which will be released, no others announced right now.

As far as getting the Curve and getting it flashed over, you never know for sure if the one you buy will be fully flashed. More often than not, it's not going to be fully flashed when you buy it. It's a judgement call for you. I'm using an old Samsung phone with a broken screen and many cracks. I'm going to stick it out and wait for the Zio.

There's no software glitch. The early pre-order nurabers for the Blackberry weren't what they liked, so they're pushing the Zio back to the Fall (Sept 20th at the earliest) so people who 'need' a phone will buy the Blackberry.

Cricket just lost at least one customer today. It makes sense for them but it sucks for me.

If you don't talk that much, you may also look at Virgin Mobile. Sprint is toying around with do 4G prepaid and has said that the higher end phones will end up on Virgin before Boost. There are some stories about people activating the EVO on Boost, but I'm not sure about Virgin Mobile. They should release an android phone for Virgin soon since they just did the i1 for Boost.

The other thing I will tell you, and any dealer listening, about a flat fee with all taxes included is that State law can change that. In some states, Boost dealers got a surprise when they found out that state law requires sales tax be charged for all prepaid phone services. Their states charged them for sales tax on all bill payments they did if they charged it or not. If you paid $55 a month flat for Boost CDMA, you probably live in a state that will require you to pay the additional sales tax.

Alright, it's nice to see that they're at least testing it and taking it into consideration though.

And, just a few more days until we hear about the new plans. :)

$60 for the Blackberry plan is not that great when compared with Virgin who is $70 with Nationwide data on Sprint. With Cricket you only get nationwide Talk and Text.

Scratch that

Well I tried to change my plan online, but the service is unavailable. I tried calling the local cricket dealer who flashed my storm, but they were closed. I don't want to go to a corporate location because i'm sure they won't allow the plan on a flashed phone. I'm gonna try the dealer I used tomorrow, see what he can do. I'm really hoping I can get BBM, apps and email to work without the wifix. Because I am lost on how to do that. lol

Well I don't mind getting it and then regretting it because if they are having inventory issues that means i can resell it alot easier lol.

Yeah, I signed up for that about a month ago or so, I just didn't read that you got a coupon, and I couldn't edit my post. Thanks!
