8/3 is a big day for Cricket

True. They might update the tos though and then start to kick off the new customers that agreed to the new tos.

Well a nice source just told me that it's official, no more first month free, and no more activation fees. So I wonder how it's going to effect the prices of the phones.

google maps will work on any android though.... nothing that special even though im sure it will be advertised so (unless they are getting their own navigation)

I'm so on the fence with this. I am with t-mobile right now and the Vibrant just came out and with a few more phones coming out before deceraber, the Vibrant is going to get cheaper. The thing that scares me is that after the launch of this phone, how long will it be before something better comes along? I have a G1 now, so the Zio would be a step up...I just don't want to wait 3 years before a nicer phone comes out...I do suppose that with the Zio will come a data plan more friendly to android phones (since android does not by default have the ability to use a proxy other than the web browser).

True, but cricket phones that are not android could get navigation.

If you remeraber, the leaked document that came out a few months ago and that hit the Boy Genius Report, stated that the MSRP of the Kyocera Zio was going to be $299. Of course, that wasn't final, and if this post ( http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...a-big-day-for-Cricket?p=13907768#post13907768 ) is correct, the new MSRP is $249. It's possible they dropped it $50 because of getting rid of the free month. If this is the case, we can assume that most phones will drop $50 off MSRP. If they dropped it for another reason, I'm guessing we can expect the Zio to cost $50 less than that (for the free month) which would be $199 before rebates. I'm thinking they already took it off the MSRP though and that is why they changed it.

Pretty much like Boost Mobile, you can pretty much get the i776 w/ month for around $130.00 in most places and the same for the LG Helix. Not a big deal for new customers but for current Cricket customers, I bet this means cheaper phones :D

Just talked to the store that flashed my storm. So far they said they cannot add the BB plan to a flashed phone. They tried I guess and it does not work. So that sucks.

With the comp plan they better not drop the MSRP too much or we'll really be getting screwed. I imagine the 1st month free is going to be oRABet by instant rebates on new activations.

Im going guess that the original brander of the phone has to release the pin out of there BES server. At least thats my understanding from what ive read at blackberry, com.

the blackberry plan will only be available to Cricket blackberry phones, now maybe someone that has access to everything in the your account could change that ive heard jammis can do that, but hey thats up to him. now the android plan should be available to even flashed and android phones the question is will everything work? btw if you do the latter cricket does not offer support on these flashed phones so dont expect any help from anybody except maybe an independent dealer that knows what they do
