My avatar is Kakashi from naruto. Why you ask? Because he somehow reminds me of myself, laid back, lazy and yet some how gets the job done right. Kakashi idealy (I used a new word today :D) has what i think is the perfect life. He is strong enough to hold his own, he's good at his job, he enjoys small things in life, and everyone likes him. Plus he's really funny.

(and Gutz is a BAMF)

Haha BAMF, very nice anyways my avatar is of course Edward Elric from the hit show Full Metal Alchemist. Anyways I have kept my avatar this way because of someone personal kindness an so I honor that person by keeping this avatar. If I was going to change it, probably would be something of Tenma from Monster, or perhaps the main title of Monster with the sword being used as the 'T' in Monster.
Till next time,

As anyone can see mine isn't from an anime, nor manga, but it is an illustration, so does that count?! :?
Anyway, mine is Opus Penguin from Berke Breathed's Bloom County. I've been an avid fan of Mr. Breathed for as long as I can remember, back even before the introduction of Opus.
As for picking an avatar based on similar physical characteristics......, hmmnnn. I'm short, bald, look great in a tux', waddle when I walk (especially in the morning before the coffee kicks in), and I'm pear shaped (damn frozen cookie dough! ;_; ). But as abunai once told me, at least I don't fancy herring gut shakes!! Nor do I think all that much of nesting on ice cubes....... But I have had the desire more than once to take a pickle loaf to a street corner mime!! (if you have to ask, you haven't read the story ark, so forget it).

Oh and shirokiryuu please have mercy.....

As much as I love anime I just could never find an avatar I'd like to use with anime roots. That aside, being that I am first and foremost a sports fan and hockey more than anything I thought I'd be a little different and represent my favorite team here on the boards.

Mine is Ishida from Bleach, and I chose him because he is a cool guy even though he is in an Arts and Crafts club, and has the highest grades.

Right now, I'm at the end of my Shinamori Aoshi avatars.

Normally, I would rotate my avatars and switch to a new Aoshi cap each day.

Shinamori Aoshi... *drool, drool*... :-3 ... put 'em back on for the sake of my eyes... ha ha ha!

I'm sorry, but I must ask what you admire about Mojo Jojo.
It's not really an issue of admiring some commendable personality trait. I just find him funny; funny acting, funny looking, funny sounding. I admire him for what he's written out to be, which is comedy relief (since the show never takes anything seriously).

It just so happens that Sunday is when I start the cycle again :P.

Oh, and I guess I'll expalin why I chose Aoshi as my prominent avatar. I admire his character during the Kyoto arc. The cold and tenacious mentality he carrys in wanting to become the strongest at any expense is a quality I like to use in accomplishing things in the real world.

Granted, my goals might not include being able to kill people in a quick, painful, and stylish way, but it's the principals and discipline that I want to carry over. He also looks cool with the trench coat and sheathed twin kodachi under his arm >_

My first Aviatar was of my Favorite anime character of all times. Alucard from Hellsing. I mean that was the first anime that had me hook line and sinker. That is also the very first anime where I actually went out and bought the enitre series and mangas. I also think is just laid back, cool, egotisticial and all around a Bad Ace.

Now the one I just changed it too is of course none other than Sephiroth from Final Fantasy Advent Children. I mean FFVII was the first game that I played that hooked me into RPG's and now the movie is breath taking. I got up and just said "WOW" and walked out nothing else. But yeah he is also a so cool, confident, kind of arrogant, definitly a egotist, weilds a awsome weapon, and once again is a def bad ace. Plus he in my mind is the best Bad Guy from the Final Fantasy Saga up to this date, and this movie only added to it. Which trust me is a very good thing.

Hmmm I have a tendency to find pitcures of bad guys and Bad Aces. I either am one, or I want to be one, or I just find it entertaining to choose the opposite side of things? I will let you in time be the judge.

My avatar is the well known Orphen from the series of the same name. It's interesting why I picked this one, until I went to my first convention, there was the strange feeling I had that I was seriously the only person in my town who was into anime, so I kinda felt like an orphen, that was until I attened my first con, and well, kinda felt like family there, but the theme still kinda stuck. It's a sappy story sure, but that's why it's there. :P

 I just knew someone was going to say that. I have to admit they do look strikingly similar. (Yeah, so what, it's a rip off ) By the way, that isn't a beard, it's a ski mask.

I picked this avatar for three reasons: I'm sympathetic to their movement, his expression (it's as if he's asking the world "Why?"), and it's a cartoon... of a mouse 8-).

Of course, as according to the rules, you must give a reason why you are a boy or a girl.

Well, you see, it all started a little over 22 years ago when my mom and dad went to bed one night...

My avatar is from the unlicensed, but not widely distributed* series, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. I took one of the scans from the original H-game that came with the DL package and shrunk it to proper size. Of course, I chose one of the tamer pictures.

Why did I choose it? Hmm, I like Drama/Romance series, and this series in particular. It's sort of outside the mainstream, so not many other people have icons from KgNE. I think it's kind of silly to use an anime girl avatar since I'm a guy (though from some of my posts, you wouldn't believe it lol), but let's face it, most of us don't want to be directly identified with the guys from romance anime. So, I chose a cute picture with the two of them on the verge of kissing, and if I learn how to make cool animated gifs, I'll combine a few pictures to make them kiss over and over again :cuteness: ^_^ ^w^'

* Why the "not widely distributed"? See this post.

My avatar features Yukari and George from Paradise Kiss! The anime based on Ai Yazawa's beeeautiful manga is airing right now in Japan and I must say that it is one that should definitely be followed ^_^

My avatar is Tokiko Mima (aka Key), the title character of Key the Metal Idol. I use it because it matches my forum name (duh) and because it's one of my all-time favorite series.

And, well, I also figured that no one else would already be using it, since that wasn't exactly a mainstream series in American fandom.
