My avatar is of course Momiji from blue seed! I choose it as my avatar because she's one of my all time favorite characters from one of my all time favorite (yet seemingly not to popular) animes :) (and she's quite good looking :wink: )

My avitar is Orihime Innue from Bleach, a fairly popular but unliscensed series that's been completely awesome so far. The specific photo comes from volume three of the manga though. I chose her because she's quite the looker. :wink:

My most recent avatar is page I scanned from my recently-aquired Orange Scrapbook from master animator/illustrator Koji Morimoto, my favorite anime director. This is possibly a sketch he did of Sharon Apple from Macross Plus (he directed the concert scene), but it could be anyone.

I started out using avatars that had the same hair and eye color as me; my first two avatars were Mikura from Mezzo TV, and my third was Yukino from Kare Kano, with her eyes photoshopped to be blue in order to match mine. However, since I don't have shortish red hair anymore (the red dye has all washed out by now and my hair is longer) and there isn't a huge number of characters I especially admire with blond hair, I began using pictures that made me feel happy to look at: Leina smiling in Noiseman Sound Insect, Myun from Mind Game, Li Xiao Yao and Zhao Ling Er looking lovingly at each other in Xian Jian Qi Xia Zhuan, and now a Morimoto sketch.

I know what you mean and have run into such problems in the past. That's why if you notice in the past I have written down him or her even though the avatars state to a certain gender. I once called Starwind him or her till as of late I know it's a him. I wish people would just go by a gender related avatar that would make life easier but oh well, people will be people. Though there are some forums that allow gender to be placed under avatars and that would be a bonus for these forums but hey you take what you are given and these forums has been quite adequate to my needs unlike a lot of other forums that have a lot of needed items missing...robotech.com being one of them.

I picked mine really out of frustration. I wanted my Binary Culture avatar, which is this: http://forum.binaryculture.net/index.php?action=dlattach;id=83;type=avatar, but it was over the 6 KB limit. I then thought of using the avatar for my favorite gaming series, Resident Evil, but I wanted something in the Japanese anime mold. So I settled eventually of one of the anime series I enjoy watching, and really what's better than . . .

1) Seeing Yami & Yugi Moto in action dishing out another card beatdown.
2) ROTFLMAO as I read all the random people who post just to tell me my avatar sucks?

My avatar has been really a series of changes based on a few different works that I feel share a very similar theme... The 1st is only resized, the other two are photoshopped by me to better fit the avatar.

Without giving spoilers, I'll give an general explaination. I don't read manga, so this is all based on the animation. So far I've seen all of Cowboy Bebop, watching Samuari Champloo English dubbed via DVD releases, so far through Vol 6 (just released today), and up to date with the Japanese airing of Bleach. I think the characters all relate to the theme of tenacity, the blood from the eyes I think captures how far they would go to see their goal.

I doubt that many people don't know where my avatar is from, but if you don't know, it's Naota from FLCL (Fooly Cooly, Furi Kuri, etc.). I chose it because I play the bass guitar, and in FLCL, the main characters use bass guitars as weapons to fight with. The image I have is from the final (sixth) episode where
Naota absorbs the powers of the Atomsk the Pirate King and is fending off Haruko's attacks with both his Rickenbacker and Atomsk's Gibson EB-0 1961.
That's the pinnacle of coolness for a bass guitar in an anime.

Some Kmart or Target Calatouge, hocking off various Yugioh!! Merchandise. This kis had hair gel and stuff, it was quite silly :)

My avatar is of Osaka (this is specially from a fanart of a gundam and azudai crossover i think)from Azumanga Daioh because i'm have a lot of common traits:
1) I think of the most randomest and weirdest things to say
2) I have a famous yawn and sneeze (acutally i hold my sneezes which i don't think is good for me)
3) I chase the bubbles in my eyes when i see them
4) I have a slow reaction time
5) i can't do pushups right =(
6) i'm a really really really slow runner
7) I always get hit in the head by volleyballs (and any other balls for that matter)
8) I'm very unflexible (it's pathetic...)
9) I think too much about little insignificant things for my own good
10) I like sleeping (but i can't sleep in class i'm always in the front for some reason)
11) I take pleasure in the smallest things (sometimes random too)
12) I get scared by things that aren't scary (to anothers perspective)
13) i'm spaced out a lot
14) I'm forgetful because i space out when i do things
In school, when i got alot of my friends addiced to azuamgna daioh by lending them my manga, we all named each other to a simialr character! i like how i can relate to the character so much

There are some things that are different as I'm good in schoolwork (bookwork, i lack creativity) and i like somewhat spicy foods

EDIT: oh and i forgot:
15) i'm a flat-chested asian

If you think thats bad you should have seen these kids trick-or-treating on Halloween.
It seriously ranged from Alucard to Zabuza.
Although my personal favorite was the one kid attempting to be Armstrong.
Priceless.

I chose Lord Aoshi because I was a real fan of his character in the Kenshin series. Keshin I thought was a great series but with out Aoshi it would not have been nearly as much fun for me to watch. Kenshin is not my favorite anime but Lord Aoshi might be my favorite anime character.

I just wanted to announce an avatar change. Today I post here saying a fond farewell to a good friend. Duelin' Yugi has served me well on this board. We experienced the highs and lows of posting on this boards (and what lows! :roll:), but as the Yu-Gi-Oh! series comes to a close, so must my time using this avatar. AND NO WAY IN HELL I'M USING JADEN. It's time to look to a bright new future and thanks to Kazuki-san, I can use the avi I use at my other site.
