hm... to think about it, i think avatars are misleading...

like i tend to jump to conclusion that people with avatars with girl are girls, and ones with boys, boys.

It's sometimes difficult for me to call someone a gender, because i don't really know.

how do people tell? i can only tell if someone else metion their gender...

I have a solution. I will make a topic asking whether you're a boy or a girl. Of course, as according to the rules, you must give a reason why you are a boy or a girl.

Shigekuni's bald. I don't think it's him. I wouldn't expect abunai to pick somebody from FLCL either. I do wonder what his avatar is from though.

Shigekuni isn't that bald, though. I have the manga, and he isn't that bald

You can catch my avatar wearing many different out fits and shades of colors. (i.e, sombreros, sun glasses, computers ect, ect….)

Your avatar is annoying as hell. All that flashing crap is just plain ugly and distracting. Having an avatar with a slight bit of movement is one thing, but constant bright flashing is just too much!

I think I've gotten used to that by now. ^_^'

Mine is from the most hilarious moment, imo, of possibly the most hilarious anime I have ever seen. I just get a goofy chuckle every time I think of this scene from Azumanga.
Maybe it's because syruppy-sweet stuff doesn't work as well in live-action, but you don't seem to find that kind of goofyness (sp?) anywhere except anime, so I think the pic is also an example of one of the unique attributes of anime.

Mine is from Oruchuban Ebichu, the funniest anime I've seen to date. It's Ebichuman, the superhero hamster who fixes peoples sex problems. I usually end up laughing when I see my avvie, and a good laugh is always welcome ^^

My current avatar is Koyori Kokubunji (a.k.a. Magical Maid Koyori) from Nurse Witch Komugi. I basically chosed her because I figured it was easier to use a character from an obscure or lesser-known anime than a character from a more common/mainstream series. Despite that, though, Koyori is one of my favorite characters because she is very charming (even as a villianess) and has excellent chemistry with Komugi. I used several incarnations of Koyori before settling on the current picture.

My avatar is of Larva from Vampire Princess Miyu. I choose it because Vampire Princess Miyu was one of the series that got me interested in anime. Had I not rented the first two volumes from Blockbuster I probably wouldn't be the fan I am today. Me and my sister bought the rest after renting it.

Nope that won't do...as it must also be anime related. While I think that's a nice suggestion... noones going to remember everyones gender except for a selected few that are probably regular posters. Pointless and against the rules I might add.

My avatar is from an old website that was taken of the 'net' that featured information regarding the Zapatistas in Chiapas Mexico. It's actually a caricature of Emiliano Zapata who lead a peoples revolutionary guerilla movement during the Mexican revolution. See the similarity:

I found my avatar while researching Zapatistas who, today, have found themselves in a similar position as Emiliano.

His legacy lives on today in the contemporary Zapatista Rebels of Chiapas. Their view of Zapata is decidedly different from the one presented here and their ideology differs significantly from that of Zapata himself. Nevertheless, they are attempting to achieve the same goal as Zapata, to lead their people out of despair and into a fair, equal future, free from oppression.

Many of the songs from the band Rage Against the Machine are about the Zapatistas and their struggle. (This is what originally got me interested in the subject :wink:.) More information about Emiliano can be found here. On Zapatistas here and this is interesting.

Necros is right, except that Naota's guitar (the one he uses that was pulled out of his head), was a Gibson Flying V electric guitar, not a Rickenbacher bass.

Yes you're right, the one in the avatar isn't a (spelled) Rickenbacker wink, but Haruko's guitar is. Look here. As stated, in the bass playing world it is pretty well known guitar. (FYI, I play bass too .)

I do to. it gets kinda confusing with people who change their avatars a lot >.<
