That's pretty fucked up and all.. but god damn that photographer got some amazing shots.

...he was supportive of offshore drilling until this happened, and likely will greenlight new rigs in the future. Offshore drilling is inevitable as long as we are addicted to oil.

The underwater plume of oil billowing from a renegade wellhead in the Gulf of Mexico is headed away from the coast and back out to sea, according to federally-funded scientists studying the spill. In the first on-site measurements of the oil spreading below the surface, researchers found the plume of crude stretches 15 to 20 miles southwest from the site of the damaged wellhead and is about 5 miles wide, said Vernon Asper, a University of Southern Mississippi marine scientist leading the research.
The plume is compact, much thicker than the lighter remnants reaching the surface and suspended in about 3,000 feet of ocean, he said. A deepwater current is dragging it out to sea. The underwater oil cloud is not connected to the surface slick

BP has tried a lot of shit to resolve it, so far with minor success.

There was 3 leak points, they have been able to fix 1.

actually they just don't like them drilling for oil in/around the US. they'd prefer to continue clusterfucking around in the middle east where it's soldiers dying for their oil instead of animals

there's no other company that sells petrol?

None of that makes it easy (Or a good idea, even) to just press the Off button.

Or are you agreeing with me?

Shit fucking sucks, I go fishing in Grand Isle, LA every year until this, first Katrina washing the whole isle away and now this. FUCK.

I don't think people are comprehending how far below the ocean's surface this is. It's a fucking MILE underwater.
