what is everyones favourite horror film ?

Blood on Satans Claw
Dead of Night
Twins Of Evil
Vampire Lovers
From Beyond The Grave

...among others, and in no particular order

Event Horizon - still makes me jump slightly

Saw - only seen it once but really liked it. Not sure if it would stand up to second viewing or not

Nightmare on Elmstreet - the first one, not the dodgy sequels. I haven't seen it in years but it scared the hell out of me when I was a child

Hellraiser 1 and 2 - I still have nightmares about cenobites

Ichi the Killer - just for the shear amount of blood and sadism they could fit into one film!

I also love the Lost Boys, but I can't bring myself to class it as horror! Black comedy maybe, almost thriller, but surely never horror!

To whoever asked, Wendigo is rubbish - it's not scary in the slightest, and there is nothing in it to hold you attention.

Saw is ace, but I think it would lose something on a second viewing because you'd know the twist.

The Ginger Snaps films are very, very good - I think there's 3 of the in all (one is set in the past).

The original Japanese Ring is fantastic, and really creepy.

Can I pick more than one? Can I? Can I? :)

House of 1000 Corpses
Texas Chainsaw massacre
Wrong Turn
Reanimator
Cabin Fever
Maniac
Ginger Snaps (1 & 2)

Bugger - I've gone braindead now. Need food. :D
Mmmmm...brains.

S'OK :) Although you might well enjoy it. It just didn't work for me...

If it helps, their names are Ginger Snaps, Ginger Snaps: Unleashed and Ginger Snaps Back.

Oh, I don't think Baise-Moi quite fits the 'horror' genre. Porn, perhaps, but not horror ;)

Thanks again, beee. :)
I hope Sci-Fi shows Ginger Snaps is Back soon then. I don't even usually like werewolf-based films (they do nowt for me, I tell thee), but I think there's something different about these.

As for Baise-Moi...well, I kind of knew it was naughty (which ok, I own up to getting it for that reason :o :D ) but at least I'll be a happy girl. But then again, if it's that brutal, maybe not. And obviously, the reported rape scene won't be nice viewing. Oh well, I love a good shocker anyhow.

I enjoyed the original Ring, but I wanted to see more of Samara or whatever her name was. She was so freaking scary, but there wasn't enough of her. And I didn't think much to Ring 2 or Ringu (whichever it is).

Another film I really enjoyed was Jeepers Creepers, until you knew what the thing was. Then it was just stupid. The first half was great for me - tunnelly things, caves, old church - oooh, I love all that.

Director's Cuts of both Romero's 'Dawn of the Dead' and Snyder's 'Dawn of the Dead' remake - both stand up in their own right as very entertaining horror flicks.

Hellraiser movies (although they get progressively worse as you go down to number 6).

The Exorcist.

From Beyond.

Reanimator.

The Ring.

Wrong Turn - this surprised me as it was uncomfortable viewing in parts.

Cabin Fever - same as above; gross out coughing up gore kinda thing.

The Evil Dead trilogy.

My Little Eye (first time around anyway).

Oooh, there's loaRAB here that people have mentioned that I forgot about!

How could I forget the Evil Dead films? Halloween? The Thing?

Ooooh, I do love horror. :)

The first man had the virus, and the students killed him. They then dumped his body in the reservoir and carried on drinking water from there - so they all got sick. The police tried to cover it up by shooting the survivors (if I remember correctly). The end shows the kiRAB serving homemade lemonade to all and sundry, made with water from the stream in which the body of an infected person ended up. Therefore we assume that the entire county will soon be infected!

*only seen the film once (ages ago) so forgive me if I've got any bits slightly wrong!
