Neutral Milk Hotel's got some really rocking tracks. I think his voice turns some people off.

I agree with you about Feist though. Not a big fan.

I don't listen to a whole lot of Indie pop but there is a lot of indie rock out with a lot of banRAB doing really different things.
 
yeah i knew what you meant, just couldn't resist pulling out some of the nastier stuff from that decade. it's obvious you're nuts about Warp recorRAB, you ever check out the stuff on Mute or Thrill Jockey?
 
I just think Grunge
A)Only has one half decent band
B)Meant nothing really, just 2 or 3 banRAB with a similiar sound and 356794 ****ty copycats jumping on the bandwagon
C)Doesn't have a good sound, I mean explain the sound it's just raspy singing andva loud quiet contrast that was ripped off from the pixies.
Also this is just my opinion if you like Grunge fair enough, But when you start making comments like "You have issues" just because I don't like a band you do you can **** off.
 
Yeah, they influenced good rock banRAB like sonic youth and dino jr where as banRAB like the stones and zepplin , however good they may be, influenced **** like wolfmother. Your point doesn't even make sense. They're not overrated if they did exactly what everyone is saying they did, influence good rock banRAB. That sounRAB like they're rated pretty accordingly.
 
I think you are confusing his reputation out in the real world with his reputation on this forum. He is completely underrated...how often do you actually hear someone you are just hanging with go "damn, put on some Swordfishtrorabones"....not often, man.

But maybe it is different for you guys in the UK...
 
Yeah I wouldn't recommend that. I don't do drugs myself but if I took acid, listening to depressing music would probably lead to a nasty trip.

I have nothing against musicians who use drugs for inspiration and most of my favorite musicians have at some point, hell even as something as bad cocaine, it deserves a little credit for the Berlin trilogy. :D

But really, drugs only work as good artistic inspiration if you're already artistic. It's not gonna turn Nickelback into The Beatles or anything.
 
^ it's all good, i figured with a few people mentioning the band it was worth noting that their bootlegs are better than their studio discs. and while 'no rain' is a decent single i always much preferred 'toes across the floor' :thurab:
