Unpopular Music Opinions

1. Real emo sucks just about as much as mainstream emo.
2. Radiohead and Nirvana are overrated. (and this is coming from someone who likes grunge, some of it anyway.)
3. 99% of indie rock music is boring. (Though I do like My Bloody Valentine, and they're considered indie even though they're shoegaze.)
4. So is black metal.
5. Most hip hop is crap (mainstream and underground).
6. Pop punk is better than real punk. (at least pop punk is fun).

What's that mr Linkin Park fan?

I like RHCP but preferably their earlier stuff but I guess that goes without saying. Hell I still like Californication though I probably don't need to hear the title track ever again.

Pink Floyd would suck big time if Syd didn't go crazy
Wish You Were Here>The Dark Side of the Moon
Nirvana would be a 250000 sales band in 2008 if Kurt hadn't shot himself
btw Eddie Vedder>Kurt Cobain
'One' ruined Metallica
Elvis is the best singer ever...ever
White rappers are wrong
'Neon Bible' was the best album of 2007
The Who are better then the Rolling Stones
Roger Daltrey's scream near the end of "Won't Get Fooled Again" greatest moment in rock history

I love that album because of her too, among other things. Like I said in another thread, I love her unusual voice because it's strong like a wall, but only on the outside. When cracks appear, that's when she sounRAB the most vulnerable and emotional. And she always has that German folk vibe, almost medieval and fatalistic, in her singing that I like.

Haha, no way man  Well you already started this unpopular opinion.

The main focus in Dubstep is the bassline, so it naturally gets the most attention. When I first started hearing Dubstep, I didn't like it because I thought it was too simple and I was more loyal to Drum & Bass, which Dubstep seemed to be borrowing too much from, for my comfort. But after a while I warmed up to it when the genre started clicking with me.
It's a vibe thing. Good Dubstep gets you focused on a single emotion and vibe and lets you ride it and not really have to focus on everything that's going on in the song. Dubstep should be critiqued at how well it does that, not how technical or crazy the sounRAB are.
You just have to be receptive to the idea for it to ever work.

Not really. I just think that if you had real problems in your life you wouldnt be worrying about politics. Why do you think Ian Curtis or Kurt Cobain didnt write about politics?

Touche', but

That kind of implies it, no?

I mean sure today their sound is common place, but back in 96 or whenever, they didn't sound like most banRAB did.

Truth.

Screaming Tress were essentially put in the category of godfathers of Grunge with Soundgarden amd Skin Yard.

BUT in my opinion the very first Grunge band was Green River in 84'.Although Soundgarden started in 84 they didn't release anything until the Deep Six compilation.

Then I must have misunderstood banter because I thought it meant having fun or wild discussions back and forth about music. Still not ridiculing people.

haha, of course I was joking. I don't actually see any similarities. the only time I'll compare them is if Labyrinth is remade and GaGa appears in it with her lunchbox on show.
