Unpopular Music Opinions

it's more about a general feel thing. call it thinking basically, but when listening to both songs, i like the general groove of Ice Ice Baby more

that's the only part about Under Pressure that i like, tbh

I don't mind Contraband either. Yes, it is unoriginal and derivative, and no, it's not Appetite for Destruction. But it is a solid hard rock album and I can appreciate it for that - there are some good tunes on it.

If you read around the 6th or 7th page of this thread, there's a large argument involving a much younger me about KoRn :P

Also: I think Dream Theater are actually pretty decent musicians. They have a tendency to go on at length sometimes in a way that's totally unnecessary, but every album of theirs that I've listened to has had at least a few enjoyable songs. Regarding the "they sing about nothing that matters" comment, well Percy, I'm not sure what you consider to be the most crucial matters of the world today, but they do song about things that a lot of their (albeit angsty) fans can relate to: Overbearing Hyprocritical parents and unrequieted love ar the two things that come to mind first (Honour Thy Father, and the entirety of Scenes From A Memory). many of their songs tell a story, and personally I believe the first half of Scenes From a Memory to be a pretty excellent piece of work, considering how seamlessly each part flows into the next.

Yes, they are fairly pretentious, yes, they are a fairly sell-out example of Prog Metal, no, they aren't the most innovative of banRAB, but they still produce some decent music.

That's a good point; the Strummer/Jones conflicts didn't really work out very well. In some banRAB, the tension is productive (Johnny Rotten's anarchy vs. Glen Matlock's traditional leanings; Lou Reed's commercial interests vs. John Cale's avant-garde preferences), but the problems in the Clash were counter-productive.

Me either.

Because it sounRAB like shit. If they can't sing and it simply corrects their voice, then I'm none the wiser. It's when they use it for vocal effect that it's just fucking annoying. Anyway...been there talked about that. :p:

Paul McCartney is without a doubt one of the most important bassists of all time, people often overlook that.

He along with other bassists from that time like John Entwistle, John Paul Jones, Chris Squire, Phil Lesh and Jack Bruce were very important in giving bassists a more important role in a rock band, they didn't have to be just the guy in the background, they could play a very significant part in the music.

Also. Wild Honey Pie > anything by GoRABmack
