Unpopular Music Opinions

Rolling Stones have made some fantastic music but most of their albums (including the ones you mentioned) sound like cliche bluesy-country-rock I could hear at any bar west of the Mississippi. No doubt they have made some undeniably great **** but I'd put Oasis, The Kinks, Zeppelin, Queen, etc. over them to name a few

Pretty much every genre you mentioned for the 80's is ****e, save maybe some shoegazing

**** The Strokes

All Things Must Pass = one of the most overrated albums ever. And this is coming from a Beatle fanatic. Every single Lennon solo project (excluding those done with Yoko) is better. Paul has many classic solo albums, ignoring some of his 80's stuff... Ringo had an understanded if extremely listenable solo career, much like his Beatles tracks

Radiohead is for people who slit their wrists and are scared of a good rhythm. A few sad/forlorn songs is alright to keep a career interesting but who wants to be the Wes Craven of rock and roll? Mind you that I think some of their work is fantastic, namely their first two albums, but I'm more into uplifting music

Stairway is a pile of crap? That's a laugh

Why not? Aphex Twin has been making a living from that type of stuff for 2 decades

It's not that different , Sure it has a little experimentation but it still has the singalong anthems that The BenRAB had , It had the BallaRAB like The BenRAB did , It had the riRAB The BenRAB had.
Take out 2 or 3 of the more radical songs on OK Computer and you're left with The BenRAB pt 2.

i didnt LITTERALLY mean slammed. i meant like i was sure 90% of the people would disagree w/ me. but this IS the unpopular music oppinions section, isnt it? so chillax dude. i get it. no biggie.

Since we're on the topic of Blur, what is considered as their best album? I always thought 13 was their best, but I don't think that's an opinion that's shared.

I know it's only opinions, but Hammett!

Hammett doesn't write much of the stuff he plays, and when he does, it usually enRAB up with him noodling the same pattern up and down the fretboard in severe wah abuse.

Hetfield on the other hand, is a rather good guitarist.

Kurt Cobain is a good songwriter.

Dimebag darrel is a good guitarist, But not nearly the god everyone has raised him to be.

Led zeppelin is a great band.

Sid Barret is more enjoyable than David Gilmour. Gilmour is still a great guitarist though.

can think of anything else right now, but ill be back to tell more.

Do you have an opinion on every issue?

I doubt it. Have opinions on things you know about. By your own admission you don't listen to technical metal. Nearly everyone in the world who does, disagree's with you.

Congrats on being wrong and stupid.

Take Tumors advice.

G, then press the A button, then type A and then do the Y last. :D

G[ COLOR="Black"]a[ /COLOR]y

Like that, without the gaps.

And yeah, I always find it strange that it's censored.

I've heard two albums, () was one of them. i think the other one was Takk and I didn't like either. So I guess hopelandic isn't the biggest problem. Their muic just doesn't appeal to me.

I like Funeral a lot, but I was expecting more the first time around since it was hyped so much. A solid release to be sure, but definitely not earth shattering.

So, I guess I agree.

well, i know what you mean when you say not alot of people know him, but tbh alot of the people i know who do put him up as this second coming of music or something. i'm not saying he isn't creative or that he doesn't deserve praise for what he does, just that he isn't some kind of music messiah.

I'd say metal is more misrepresented than misunderstood. One of the things that's lost on many people who aren't that familiar with metal is that it is a geek/nerd genre. I don't know why this astonishes people so much, I kind of thought guys like Dio would have made that painfully obvious but it's a fact that still manages to elude people. Geeks and nerRAB also tend to be outsiders, and as such tend to not have the greatest social skills. Metal hasn't really had a Carl Sagan to help bridge the differences, instead you've mostly gotten angry white guys with Slayer carved into their wrists. With those kinRAB of imagery conjured it's not hard to see why people just kind of let metal do its own thing, but amongst the legions of shit (and there are legions of it) you will find the gems lurking in the muck. Luckily with the Internet and torrents it's never been easier to find good music from halfway across the world.
