Underage Nudity Being Shared On The Gnutella Network - Porn and Laws

I have been violently ill, nauseous, paranoid, the whole 9 yards having downloaded a supposed kp file on accident (meaning i didnt open the file to confirm my fear if it was just a prank file). I first had a filter in with words like child, pedophile, kid, kiddy...but i didnt have pedo in there nor 16yo 17yo, and had 3 files come in under those 3 tags. one was pedo one was 16 and one was 17. I searched my incomplete folder and found them there. My heart started racing and my stomach started hurting and i bagan recitting what i would want to say in court if this **** got deep. it was on accident. now im paranoid. i dont have a floppy drive so the Nuke drive option doesnt seem to be option does it? how can i clean it other than defragging? this is keeping me up at night and driving me insane.

i cant eat, cant sleep, i feel like im going to puke and should just throw my pc away

My little advice for anyone in the future. If should you inadvertently downloaded one of the mislabeled files which turned to be a child pornography material - please immediately report it to the Cybertipline and law enforcements.

The computer crime investigator at my local police department (He is also part of my local county's procuestor office's computer crime unit) strongly recommend it to anyone. It happened to me once before in the past and I did what they recommended. Not reporting it is very worse thing that anyone could do in that situation, so please do the right thing. They will know what to do when you report to it and you wouldn't have to worry about get in the trouble because you reported.

Please report it or contact the proper authorities so you could get these sick scums off the P2P networks and internet.

Recommendations by many organizations including FBI which I posted in another thread awhile ago -

im taking an extra step on on filtering my frostwire: what other keywords should be in the filter? it seems these days they use alot of slang and special code words to sneak their stuff

Sorry brother, did not mean to terrify you. That sheriff in the article is especially into that kind of crime, he's kinda creepy actually when you here him talk. If you just downloaded half of something and then deleted it I really don't think you have anything to worry about with most professional law enforcement. Despite what they could possibly get you for if your hard drive was not clean, they would see the incident as a very non-intentional one based on that. And the fact is that if you have not had anyone knock on your door yet, very slim chance that you are ever going to. Real federal law enforcement is going to be looking for regular activity and then move in directly after a download or an exchange of some kind so they know they have current, real evidence; not to waste their time with an old half-event like yours. They want to catch people who are actually doing something wrong. Follow the good advice presented to you here, please stay clear of dangerous activity but please have peace of mind also my friend. You are going to be fine.

No, such logs prove nothing. Just encrypt your disks, get Alzheimer and never worry about the FUD in here again.

"Any updates, killian?"

They don't read forums in Guantanamo Bay.

Also to conclude, It doesent help when lime wire has this stuff wide open. They should add a blocker so kids like me cant get access to that stuff...

i recently gave my computer to the police in which they found 5 cp videos. I had not been sharing them to my knowledge, and i didnt know of them. I have a pornography addiction (diagnosed professionally) and there was around 400 videos and 600 pictures. Think of my addiction as a hoarding addiction to pornography. I only watched around 20 videos, the same ones, but would spend hours (around 4 a day) mass downloading.
Even though i do have a problem, which i am in counseling for, and the videos werent watched i believe they will still come at me full force.
Its been about 3 weeks since they had it, i contacted a lawyer and ready to fight.
If anyone has any tips or advice for me, please...

The dangers of KP on your PC go beyond legal issues. If you are applying for a security clearance, job in a family oriented company, child care, political office and the like and it is discovered, your life will be HELL. Some enemies hacked in a local judge's computer and found KP (or put it there): his life is ruined.

Frost158 my first question is WHY? Something to do with the help you're receiving?

Your only recourse here is to tell the truth and vigoriously appose the fact that you KNOWINGLY downloaded the stuff. The volume you're talking about makes it pretty clear that this was a minute amount of your collection.

This is no time to skimp on lawyer fees.

Meanwhile be prepared for the worst our society is going through a freaky time on this subject and similar subjects. Today parents see a kidnapper behind every bush. If my memory serves me right there were perhaps 12 or 20 - I can't remember - non-family kidnappings in the US last year.

The keys are to strongly deny you had knowledge that there were underage people in the videos - that you never watched them - it was just part of a compulsive act to hoard the images for which you are now under treatment for. Make sure its emphasized that you willingly turned over the CP without altering its content. You had nothing to fear when doing so.

I wish I was on your jury - but my best advise is if you can plead this out to a misdemeanor do so. But of course listen to your attorney and push him to get the charges dropped if possible.

Have you searched the web for a forum for people who have been unjustly charged or overly punished (the lifetime registration as an example)? Do so and see what help is on-line.

In most countries it is, if not in all. In fact, last week there was an international band caught in different countries and all of them were jailed.

Hey guys, sorry for bumping this up like.

About 2 months ago I came into a sticky situation like all else on here. Downloaded a 8 minute movie, with a completly fine title.

Turned out to be something that kind of looked like...yep. Now I closed, deleted, defraged (If this is the standard type of defrag you are talking about like, right clicking on screen etc) but am still **** worried.

Live in UK, not as strict as US but I simply want a straight answer, are the coppers gonna bust down me door?

how does the law work regarding movies that feature 16yo's? that is the legal age of consent in a number of countries - - I know that you have to be 18 to star in a produced feature, but how does it stand if that person put's their home movie on the web? if it's amateur then hows that illegal?

be very very careful when insulting a mod orangeboy...very careful....you might find that another mod (like me) will step right in and put a stop to it before the offended mod gets a chance to deal with it for him/herself

Obama?..more like that nasty republican McCain....definitely Bush/Cheney!

uh huh...well that was a simile to direct you to a thought process that obviously went over (or perhaps under) your head....why do you think military spy planes have self destruct devices on their data recorders???? again, believe whatever you will, but you are wrong...

Well, after being bugged to return to Limewire and Gnut. Forums I'll post again. Previously, I tried to get Limewire to ban and delete underage porn. It is sick, sick, sick. I can't, like most people who post on this issue, believe there are adults who would subject a child to these sorts of things. The moderators tended to defend the pedos under the banner of freedom of speech, or, that if they start banning certain people, then it will lead to banning other people on other issues. I still believe pedos should be banned and p2p, especially Limewire, and has the tools to do it. Now, the Canadian gov. has come up with the bright idea of proposing legis. requiring YOUR server (the place you subscribe for your internet connection) to report all subscribers' IP addresses downloading KP. They will probably forward all subscribers who download even regular, good and healthy porn. For those in other countries, don't cloak yourself in your flag, thinking it won't happen in your country.
Things we can do to stop child porn on the net: don't download anything that is labelled (tagged: KP,PtHC...);use your 'filter' to filter out words such as e.g. '10yr', '9 yr' '11 yr old' ...; block users who have pedo-files; never save, and immediately delete all such files; delete, shred, dump... browsing, cookies history.Remember, you can't trust p2p,limewire, law enforcement, judges or the courts, to bring any sense to this issue. It is up to you, not them. Perhaps, until the problem is resolved, don't download any porn.

Hi Forum Members

As if to illustrate my point of over a week ago:

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/288638-post128.html

I have come across this BBC article about a photograph that was seized by police from an art gallery:

BBC NEWS | Magazine | What's the difference between art and porn?

The collection of photographs are owned by Elton John and were taken by an eminent photographer Nan Goldin.

The authorities are currently trying to decide whether to prosecute or not.

These days i was shocked to find child porn on adult websites. When you search on google 'adult sex', it does have adult content but then there are many that also have under 18's. So if someone clicked on the link that says teens' on the adult website you would expect them to be 18/19 yrs old. So can you still be arrested for this mistake?
