I loved it. I loved every single moment of it. It's one of the most entertaining Ninja Turtles media forms to ever exist and a fitting conclusion to everything that's come before now.
I suppose some of the jabs at the 80s TMNT were a bit too cut-throat but I didn't find them to be out of character except maybe Donatello because he normally has technobabble to back-up his claims for why something works.
80s Raph breaking the 4th wall was priceless. The time when Hun asks him who he's talking to is actually my favorite moment of the movie.
To all of you who are claiming the 80s TMNT hid from the public, you're quite wrong. In the 80s cartoon they originally did hide from the public with disguises but often enough they walked the streets of NYC in broad daylight. What was out of character in this instance was they didn't think people would be freaked out by them. This was never the case in the 80s cartoon because they knew people didn't accept them but sometimes they'd walk around in broad daylight without disguises anyway.
Also crying? Nah... that's not like them. Not at all. That was stupid but forgettable.
Krang apparently DID have indegestion. I lol'd so hard at that.
Awesome tribute to the various universes and I loved the nod to Same as it Never Was (so that's where that wallpaper and the cool ninja one came from).
Mirage TMNT looked kind of... odd. I mean the style was pretty much there but it seemed squished or something. I loved how they joked about the colored masks and belt buckles especially Mike admitting that he liked the belt buckles.
Raph trying to look cool with the Mirage TMNT followed swiftly by rejection.
The pot shots at the differences had me rolling in general and even the Mirage series got poked at with a wimpy Shredder and Leonardo's monologue. It was simply fantastic.
One thing that bothered me though. The turtles sure weren't the least bit sympathetic to Hun after he got the mutagen on his arm. Both teams of turtles usually try to help mutants get back to normal when they can or at least show some dang sympathy due to their understanding of how hard it is to be a freak or in the case of the 80s TMNT because they know what Master Splinter goes through having been human once.
Also if there was any truely missed opportunity here it was not using the mutant army to have more cameos than Tokka and Razar. They made new mutants instead of homaging any number of the old ones. Quite a waste of potential there.
Honestly I don't consider the 80s TMNT disrespected here but they did go a bit far with the lampooning... but you know what? I enjoyed the lampooning. Ever moment of it. I hope it isn't long before this makes it on DVD shelves. I really wish I could have seen it in theatres but ah well.
A+
And on a final note I officially subtitle this movie Bebop and Rocksteady save the Multiverse.
