Them Crooked Vultures

I love this band!! I kept heard their name mentioned on the radio but had no clue and decided to search them on the net. I love 'em!
Mind Eraser, No Chaser... love this song!

I think Grohl's drumming is absolutely awesome on the record. He's doing some great stuff there and I think it definitely stanRAB out compared to your avarage rock album (like the whole album actually). However sound wise I think they could've done a lot better. The production isn't all great. I was hoping that they would be able to copy the same mind blowing sound as the live gigs I saw but unfortunately they didn't. Then again this music is best heard live anyway. If you remotely like the album catch them live if you get the chance.

Yep not every artist can say something like that.

Yep I agree that there is a lot of recognition for Homme's work online, but in real life it is hard to come across anyone who recognises the name and his banRAB outside QoTSA, TCV will probably heighten his profile though.

Rock music almost always sounRAB better live. I don't think they could've done a better job recording this stuff. There's just no way you could reproduce that amount of decibel at home...:\

Hey how did those rich guys get rich Seragonripper... by, uh, making music... come on, it's their livelihood, don't knock 'em for getting together and doing what they do best and write and play music... thats kinda like saying, well, I've already been a teacher before so I don't need to go into a classroom before...

And screw it.... if the music['s good... I'm in. Rich artists or not.

I think Josh Homme's motivation lately has been competing against Jack White. First there was his response to the White Stripes with The Eagles of Death Metal, with himself playing the primitive skins, and now you got his reply to the The Raconteurs. Gosh darn it Josh, if you want to top Jack, collaborate with the original lineup of Kyuss!

Had a few more days to digest it. There's only 3 songs I could do without, Elephants (although I love the first minute), Interlude with ludes and Warsaw, particularly the latter because I feel Spinning in dffodils would have been a perfect closing track.

For anyone following, P4K just published a (half-assed) review. 6.2. Hilarious. But I guess it'd be kinda like complaining about the NME list. :\

Incidentally, I'm a little surprised by the lack or response from rab...:\

Them Crooked Vultures (band with John paul Jones Josh Homme and David Grohl ) comes out today I heard some of the songs on youtube it looks like a pretty good album I'm gonna buy it.:afro:

I've listened to it twice now and i like it. It's nothing spectacular, nothing original, nothing mindblowing but it's a good album. It's kind of what i expected in many ways. Alot of people will say this could have just been another QOTSA album and it isn't a million miles away but i wasnt looking for anything original and judged on its own merit it's a decent record. Mr. Grohl's drumming is of course top notce as well.
