The Mentalist (Merged)

I hope we see more Red John next year as it does bring out a darker side in Jane which is a nice change from the goof ball. Also glad they shot down the Lisbon/Jane romance as seems alot of fans want them together and i think it will personally ruin there frienRABhip.

I had no idea at all!! Even when I copied I re-read it because it didn't ring a bell.

I remember more about the insider programmes that were on at the same time when Simon Baker said he'd wondered if he was going to be Red John in the end. That just messed with my brain.

 I never saw those! I remember seeing them available to view on 5 on Demand.

I re-watched the whole series when it was repeated, as I didn't start watching it from the beginning.

Well I suppose it was inevitable that some viewers wouldn't like this episode because it was a departure from the normal type of prime-time season finale we've come to expect. Personally, I'm grateful to Bruno Heller for daring to be different in providing us with a challenging and thought-provoking finale.

There is one thing I hope we can all agree on though - Simon Baker's portrayal of Patrick's inner conflict in the restaurant washroom was acting at its very best.

Did anyone see last Thursday's episode (skydiving murder)? Didn't Jaime Murray from "Hustle" look as though she had had a bad facelift? It was totally distracting. She is a good actress and beautiful already, so I can only hope this was something temporary like botox or badly applied make-up.

Five have plenty on at the moment, CSI NY, CSI, NCIS, Numb3rs all airing new episodes, along with shows like Extreme Fishing & Paul Merton in Europe.

TV generally has had alot of new series start, if I had to guess the Mentalist wont start till after NCIS finishes, or possibly Numb3rs if they think it will work at 10pm

Oh yes that's very ture :D Okay then I'll go UK pace. I've now watched all episodes up to next week's so I'll just have to wait with excitement like everyone else until Friday :D

I agree with you bubbsy - loved those 2 episodes and the Red John story. I disagree with Samantha's view that catching RJ would have little impact on Patrick. He is certainly emotionally unavailable until that issue is resolved. And his need for vengeance is I think still his main reason for living, although I do think this is gradually changing as his affection for the team increases and they become like a surrogate family to him. Although some of the audience and perhaps the CBI team may sometimes forget about RJ, I don't think Patrick ever does. We see glimpses of his pain and obsession in most episodes and it is often the reason for his unreasonable behaviour (e.g. Eps 1 and 2 of this season).

Have been thinking about this and wondering if they will follow a similar schedule to last year. The final episode of Season 1 was aired on 20th August, so the first episode must have been around the middle of March.

Just wanted to say that Series 3 starts this Friday at 9pm, but it's already on Five On Demand and has been for a few days. It's free to watch, and I only had to sit through two adverts for the whole episode! I don't know if this was a mistake or that Five will put up the next episode, before they air.
