Terminator: Salvation - surprised!

Personally, I quite enjoyed T3 for what it was. Sure, it wasn't a patch on T1 or T2, but it was an entertaining mindless blockbuster; which is what I expect when I go to see an Arnie movie.

Most of what I've read in negative reviews of this film are remarks about how it missed opportunities to go into deeper dramatic territory and the like. Whilst I wouldn't be opposed to a Terminator film getting all deep and meaningful in parts, it is - ultimately - not what we go and watch such a film for.

So long as its got a reasonably structured story and heart-pounding action scenes, I think it will have acheived what it meant to. Not all films are meant to be deep in the plot department!

I thought it was explained OK. He'd come across something new and wanted to research it. I daresay it had been years since the last time he had listened to them, and now he wanted to remind himself and hear with a fresh perspective.

For those who asked, it's coming out 2 weeks later in the UK because Sony have the rights to it here (as opposed to Warner Bros in the USA) and Sony thought releasing it last week would hurt Angels and Demons.

That may backfire though, as I'd imagine TS would have taken more money here last weekend than it will June 5-7.

I watched the film earlier today. I must admit, i was disinterested at times. As i was hoping there would be more dialogue and emphasis upon the plot. Which failed to materialise. Though a plus point of the film, was the character Marcus. I hope he cane return. As i feel there is more they could do with him.

But if there is to be second film. It will surely be focused on John Conner. Which may open up the story more.

Yeah, seconded. The audio in that film was shocking... The dialogue was really quiet, so i kept turning up the volume and nearly blew up the speakers when the action kicked in.

It's 4 Connors in 4 films! There was a different one in T1 in the future scenes. I agree though, I like my franchises to have continuity and was gutted personally when Linda didn't return for T3.
