SPOILERS Star Wars episode III (what do you think)

The dialogue and acting has always been ropey in Star Wars films.

But I'd say this one probably had the best performance from a human in all the films...Ian McDirmid (sic) acted his socks off.

I'm not sure the ending was rushed...it did go on for quite a bit. However - it would have been nice to see Qui Gonn after they mentioned him (I believe the footage was filmed).

I think though, that Lucas was trying to avoid the criticism 'Return of the King' got for it's seemingly never ending, ending.

I'd agree with pretty much all of that.

Although I think ROTS may be my favourite because the pacing of Empire and ANH is so slow.

Sorry, but as someone who likes good films - and thinks most Star Wars movies do not stand up as great films - you're talking bollocks.

ROTS isn't perfect but overall it's pretty good.

Ok you saddos, does anyone think Sith is better than the 80s films? If not that's a pretty dismal situation isn't it? Lucas is an arse. Never was a great director, just got lucky with a kiddie action film that had a bit of psuedo-mystical mumbo jumbo in it. That mumbo jumbo is apparently the 'depth' to the last 3 overblown, humourless (unless you count Jar Jar) films for in-denial fanatics. Ewan is totally crap, the younger leaRAB have no weight and Nat, in particular, cannot act. If you want to waste your lives some more go and be a LOTR fanatic. They're not the greatest films in the world but they sure hang together better than any of the last 3 Star Bores. To my mind there has only been two scenes in the last 3 that captured the spirit of the old films; the race in P Menace, and the bit in Clones where they were tied up in that arena being menaced by wacky creatures. See, kiRAB films. Except the new one is not recommended for children. Shame!!

How can having an opinion on a film be 'talking bollocks'? It's no more bollocks than you saying it's pretty good.

It isn't even close to perfect, it's a cheap kiRAB film rolling on the furore of a few million fanboys and girls. Utter tosh.

Likewise. Common knowledge that EVERY big film out these days will use CGI to some extent, and it's always noticed, despite how well it's used. Not what I meant, I meant all these big hollywood films, I.E LOTR Spiderman etc, should of phrased it better, sorry. Of course they are going to make the fights somewhat different, but theres only so much you can do and still keep it in line with star wars continuity. Glad to see sarcasm is not wasted on you  Homage like I said. Okay. Playing Alec Guinness playing Obi Wan.

Anyway, I've said what I thought of the film, rather than constantly argue over who thought what sucked or liked..(it gets no one anywhere.) I'll just stick to reading posts. :D

I agree, Ian was great playing Palpatine! Very menacing!

'Are you threatening me Master Jedi?' :D

I thought Mace was going to crap Himself.

I loved this film!

Actually there is a CGI scene in the film, at the end of the rape scene. They inserted something digitally into the scene as the actor refused to do a nude scene.

As for Episode III, I saw it Sunday and maybe need to give it a second viewing before I really judge it, maybe later when the fuss as died off and all the kiRAB and fanatics aren't plaguing the cinemas and ruining the viewing.

My impression was that its the best of the 'New' Star Wars films but still holRAB nothing on the 'Original' Trilogy. Sorry but A New Hope, Empire and Jedi are far better films. The reason for that I think is they have better characters and a better plot, and sacrifice none for special effects. These new movies have all the bells, pops and whistles but they lack the main ingredients.

forgive me for being naive, but how did the force impregnate shmi skywalker?

im assuming plageus (or however it is spelled) WAS sidius's master, and that is why i thought anakin was created by plageus

if anyone can explain i would be very grateful!! :S

One fangirl here ;) . Although three hours ago I would have called myself an ex-fangirl. I loved the originals, and hated Episode 1 and 2. I've had countless arguments with prequel-defenders. But I loved this one.

I so expected it to be sh*t, I really did, but about 20 minutes in I found myself thinking, "hang on, this is actually all right". And by the time the credits rolled I was crying like a baby :o .

It actually had a story that made sense and hung together, unlike 1 and 2. Yes, there are bits I would have liked to have not been in there (Vader's "noooo" being the most glaring example, and I really don't like to see Yoda fight), but on the whole I have to say wow.

And I love, love, love! that I got to see so many things I recognised from the orignals - Chewbacca, the Tantive IV, and best of all, Alderaan! I've been waiting years to see that! :D

Episode VI: Return of the Jedi: DVD Trilogy
* Hayden Christenson has replaced Sebastian Shaw only in the Force Ghost shot This Will also explain why I saw a image of Hayden with Obi wan and Yoda

In the same way that the Virgin Mary became impregnated... (her fiancee did it :P)

But seriously - if you look at the films as a whole there's a whole lot of Bible-philosiphy stuff... Immaculate conception being just one of them. Too tired to think of the rest right now but in the cinema it all became clear... (I was sitting in Row C and was totally immersed in the film!)

Hey I was just saying what I thought, I should of known better it'd change into a "it sucked!" "no it didn't" "yes it did" "no it didn't" "yes it did" "no!" "yes!" :p

Has anyone else realised that Darth sideous is Anakins father yet (sort of)

If you remember the bit when he tells anakin the story of the sith who could create life you realise then what I mean

sorry, im not religious so i look more for 'logical' explanations!

so if anyone can help me with the following, please  :::

1 - was plageus (?) sidius's master?
2 - was plageus responsible for creating/fathering anakin?
3 - how can the force impregnate someone?

thanks in advance for any help

It just goes to show theres different strokes for different folks I thought Hayden Christensen was a weak link in both this film and the last, a good looking lad though I'd grant you. :)
I also thought the special effects where a bit over done in places, you didnt know where to look at times, and so much had to be fitted in it seemed rushed in places. I'd have liked to have seen more of how Palpetine seduced Anakin to the dark side. (Ian McDirmid was absolutely fab BTW).
On the whole I enjoyed it :)
