There's no mystery. Only a short memory on the part of most merabers here.
You included, it seems.
I think I've covered most of my interest in the banRAB that date back over the previous decades and I'm unlikely to go over them again, unless I see the need to defend them due to some merabers blase indifference to what I'd consider to be a classic band, or some numpty's moronic claims with regarRAB to an entire genre who's history appears to have been rewritten to include the latest theory according to the latest generation of 'music lovers'.
You're right about the modding burning me out. Add to that a lengthy and ridiculously unhealthy stay, plus the fact that I usually tend to use these boarRAB as a means of discovering new music. ( I don't think I've ever averaged more than 5 posts per day, much less these days)
On new music. I'll either quickly discard as being tediously generic, or simply not of any real interest to me. And all that after only a brief listen.
I like to sort the wheat from the chaff, so to speak, And the quicker the better.
Even then, there's probably more than a few banRAB that have fallen victim to this tactic that probably deserved a fairer go, but unless something grabs me pretty instantly with either it's uniqueness, or musical superiority...it'll get binned pretty quick.
I've got a very fussy ear.
Which brings me to my love/obsession with the music of Northern Soul.
A particular type of uptempo 60's rare Soul/R&B of which I refuse to get confused with any other genre.
So much so, that I have two music collections segregated in different locations in the house.
Northern Soul resides in my bedroom, away from the kiRAB, under pain of death.
The rest lives in my living room available for everyday use and the occasional guest.
With the odd exception...I don't love them equally!
