Somalia: A haven for private business

I guess the point I'm making is that the only way for libertarianism to truly work is if all government collapsed. It's evidently a a dream for free enterprise: No pesky taxes. No pesky regulations. No pesky laws telling you you have to serve people regardless of their ethnicity.

Best thing the UN could could do would be to stand down the troops, and start educating and handing out birth control devices. I mean, WTF? You have a country with no water, not much farmland, and the skinnies breed like rabbits.

Indeed. Private businesses are led by people with bad outlooks on life, which is why the government has to be sent in to make sure these dipshits play fair. Civil rights act anyone?

Romania & probably will end up getting a residence permit for Ukraine as well. Paperwork is pending now.

... or you could choose to totally ignore my advice and continue behaving like a troll anyhow.

Suit yourself.

i think we ought to bring objectivism to somalia. like ayn rand. that way they can learn how rational men should truly behave.

Considering how effective the UN peacekeeping forces have been thus far, I'll take my chances.

Like any decent troll, he totally ignores posts that actually deconstruct and properly refute his weak claims. He doesn't want to actually refute allthatshitbyyou.txt.

the governmrnt should control all business to make sure that people are treated fair.

If we are going to be setting up reservations, I want the "all you can eat" shrimp concession at all the casinos...

Um, libertarians don't desire civil unrest or outright war. Libertarians don't desire anarchy either. Libertarians desire peaceful society governed by rational law that respects and enforces property rights and personal rights dictated largely by natural rights. So no, Somalia does not fit that bill at all.

But hey, you're not really interested in anything other than chumming the waters are you?

I don't follow. The study appears to show that Somalia is better off under anarchy than it was under a national government. That doesn't mean that someone could duplicate the same living standards found in more developed countries overnight. If I were interested in the type of business opportunities Somalia offers then I would agree it's a good place to be. Or if starting a coup wouldn't draw the ire of foreign do gooders.

i will bring some order with the help of ex us military soldiers and some surplus russian equipment

Libertarians desire as little government as possible. This is what happens with as little gov'ment as possible suh.
