Sex and The City (may contain spoilers)

I loved it loved it loved it too! 10/10, yes it's quite long but there was not one moment where I was wishing it would end - quite the opposite. LOVE Big, LOVE Smith, think that trying to fit Aiden in would have been gratuitous and not believable. Laughed out loud, cried (as quietly as I could) - don't think they should make a sequel as for me this tied things up perfectly and in my opinion there's no more story to tell.:D.

"I wore a bird in my hair for him"
"I thought that was feathers"
"No, it was a bird"

I was tring to work out what the hell it was too :D :D :D

Have to say the constant promo shows and aRAB on TV kinda ruined it....I sat there for the first 20 minutes thinking "I've seen all this on the advert....."

I saw it on Monday, did anyone else find it was really slow and long? Apart from that the storyline was good, my honest rating would be 7/10 - I hear SJP would be up for a sequel, that'd be great.

fashion is a HUGE part of satc?!?!?!? what did you expect.

i thought the movie was awesome, cried the entire time, was just waiting for big to die.

thank god he didn't.

dunno why you'd want aiden to come back, hot but such a wuss! that storyline died a long time ago. also how the hell was the furniture shop gonna be aidens? he was a carpenter.

100/10.

went to a 5.15 showing and it was 3/4 full, but bear in mind they were showing it on 2 screens at a time, and when I came out the lobby the 2 other screens looked packed.

Charlotte got the most laughs IMO she stole the show, from the way she waddled around the wedding car :D her obsession with not drinking anything in Mexico to her final moment of shame :D:D
She got round of applause when from the audience from her scene with Big near the end.

I didnt know what to expect of the movie having watched the series, but I was glad I went to see it.

My only couple of issues:

The whole thing could have been avoided if she had let him explain on the original wedding day (even after she battered him with the bouquet).

IIRC Stanfordand Anthony really hated eachother in the series....why were they now frienRAB? Where was Marcus? Infact, I think I only saw Stanford once in the whole thing??

They cut out Lil' Kim she was in the fashion week scene

Other than that, I think they did it justice.

But anyone else notice how much Cynthia Nixon and Kim Catrall have aged compared to the other 2?

also ie. the stanford and anthony thing, there's never been any sexual attention. I think it just showed they had become frienRAB, which is cool. And the kiss was because on new years you'll kiss anyone because you need to! they had to see off a class of champagne though first.

fabulous fabulous fabulous.

Anyone else really want the book of love letters?!

Yeah I agree, I think it would have been much better if she had said no when he proposed. Considering they had just said that they only got engaged the first time because it said something about them if they didn't. I never saw them as a marrying kind of couple, even the small simple wedding they had at the end.

I loved the things as a whole but a few bits did annoy me. I felt what Steve did to Miranda was much worse than what Big did to Carrie, yet she had to spend about 9 months in mourning, and hidind, and Miranda barely gets a mention. Big just wanted to talk to Carrie, if Charlotte's daughter hadn't hidden the phone then the wedding would have gone on fine. It was more of a misunderstanding.

Also we don't get to see the reactions of anyone other than Carrie to Charlotte being pregnant, something that was such a part in the series.

But apart from those bits I loved it, I saw it on the first showing at our local cinema and it was booked full all night. Everyone one was cheering and boo-ing etc... made a great atmosphere.

Cynthia Nixon was on Graham Norton last week and looked gorgeous. The red hair is a bit harsh in the film and seems to make her look older.

Question for those who have seen it - OK so no Marcus, so guess he and Stanford broke up. But the mate I saw the film with seemed to think that it was implied that he and Anthony were together now?

totally 10/10. Am shocked they managed to make a film which not only lived up to, but possibly exceeded all the hype. Funnier than expected too.

I liked the show a lot but the movie undid some of that ending, which ended perfectly in my opinion.

It wasn't an embarrassment, the performances were good and it had a few great moments and will please the fans which i suppose is important.

But it was not actually a good movie and that's what i wanted from it.

And those fashion montages....YAWN....

I have to agree with you there! I also wasn't overly keen on the storyline/finish they gave her & Smith. This & the annoying background/dramatic music were the only two things I can say I really didn't like. Other than that, I thought it was great!!!! Thoroughly enjoyed having the SATC ladies back on the screen:D

Was I the only one who choked on their popcorn when a certain man appeared on screen a jewellery box in his pocket?:o

She was never supposed to have a main part, and to be fair, she seemed to get more screen time than a lot of the characters from the actual TV series.

But on another note, I remember reading an artice a while ago which was refering to the low amount of black characters, but I think it was refering to FrienRAB rather than SATC.

I think frienRAB ran for 10 years and only had 1 black character, which is strange concidering the amount of black people who live in NY

I've just come back from seeing this. I went with two sex & the city virgins and was expecting to have to explain stuff to them all the way through - thankfully i didn't need to :D

It was absolutely amazing. Charlotte was hilerious (so much more then she was in the series!) I loved her. I was so happy for her in the end. And when Carrie had the big breakdown in the street with Big  To be honest, i was a bit annoyed that she forgave him, i have never really liked Big  Samantha stole the show though, her one liners are brillient :D dispite the fact she didn't really have much of a storyline for herself...

The only bit that dissapointed me was the lack of Harry, Stanford and Anthony :( (Is it me or has Jason Lewis aged ALOT these past 5 years )

i read an article of an interview SJP did and she said it is in fact a real bird, but a vintage one going back as far as the early 1900s. i,m guessing maybe it had been mounted :)

It's good to hear that people like it. I feared after all the hype and anticipation it might not live up to the expectations. Anyway, I'm going to see it later today so I'll see for myself ;)

After a quick qoogle, it appears there's conflicting information as to whether the book even exists.

But I've just ordered this one thats come up time and time again
