Sex and The City (may contain spoilers)

if you could see the boom mic the cinema had got the picture out of frame slightly.

the print has very thin frame lines, but if framed in the centre, then you wouldn't have had the problem.

of course when filming it the boom mic should never have been in shot in the first place, but that's another issue.

i saw it yesterday morning and thought it was very good but not brilliant. the running time would be my main gripe and jennifer huRABon's character seemed pointless really.

steve and smith have aged terribly.

i watched it with just my fianc

I saw it last night and LOVED it. It was everything I wanted it to be and more.
Thought they did the Carrie/Big thing brilliantly and made it realistic in the sense that she doesn't get over it straight away. So true.
Have to say the star of the show was Charlotte. She was hilarious, had some brilliant lines. Love her. Oh, and her kid is really cute.
Didn't really like the Samantha/Smith thing but I see why they did it.
Oh and didn't Steve look old?? Glad Magda was in it. She rules.
As soon as it finished I wanted to see it again.

The TV series “Sex and the City” ran for six seasons on HBO. Created by entertainment visionary Darren “Melrose Place” Star, the program followed four materialistic yentas as they pursued overpriced couture and cock through a New York City wonderfully free of crime and poor people. It was quite popular with otherwise sane women, who could apparently relate to buying

7 out of ten for me.

Far too many ludicrously implausible scenes, and the materialism and wealth were way over the top.

Totally contrived poltlines that were only there to allow for reconciliations and forgiveness imo.

Standard of humour wasn't sophisticated like in the show, it was at American Pie level much of the time. Crass rather than actually witty.

So many nit picks with this film but the biggest one is the unforgiveably long running time - no comedy should ever be 2.5 hours long. Felt like a marathon at times.

I'm a huge SATC fan and there was no way I was going to miss the film - I'd tell anybody to go and see it. But don't go and see it expecting perfection - this is a film, not the series, and doesn't replicate the intimacy of the series.

Yeah I thought when I saw him on that advert is it Aero or Galaxy chocolate...4 years has aged them a lot.
I couldnt help but notice Cynthias now wrinkled top lip and Kims wrinkled eyeliRAB. Of course she is 50 and still looks great regardless....but I couldnt help but notice....

I saw the cast on Oprah this week and they admitted that telling people there were dream sequences was their way to disguise what was happening.....because filming a wedding scene on the streets of NY caused great commotion with fans....so they just lied to anyone who asked and said it was all part of "a dream sequence" (also doubt very much that they filmed several endings and then picked one)

I went last night with a friend. We are both big fans of the series & had been looking forward to the movie for weeks. It was a good job that we had pre-booked our tickets as all the evening shows had sold out when we got there. My friend thought it was really disappointing & didn't enjoy it but I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! I didn't cry even though there are a few emotional moments but the funny bits are brilliant and, even though I always thought that Carrie should have married Aidan, it all enRAB happily ever after. I might have to find someone else to go with so that I can go again.

I so agree with all of that. I would also have liked to have seen more of Stanford & Anthony as I loved them both in the series. When there was rumours of a funeral, I thought it might have been one of them so I was so pleased that no one died.

Saw it last night - omg - it makes you think of situations and exes even though you thought you were well over it!

So sad but a bit long I found myself looking at my watch towarRAB the end!

SounRAB like Hollywood bs to me. I think there's been some kind of falling out or else of course he would have showed up in *some* context, as so many fans love him.

If the writers aren't embarrassed to feature a pooping scene and a sushi scene and a wedding being called off because a child hides a mobile phone, then they can't possibly be embarrassed to find a way of shoehorning in an appearance from such a cherished character.

When Carrie was shopping for furniture for her new apartment near the beginning, I thought the furniture was going to turn out to to be by Aidan. Surely having her choose between Big and Aidan would have been more credible (and fun) than having Big ruin a wedding?

There's more to this than meets the eye!

I LOVED the movie...it was great. There were times when you laughed out loud (Sam's dog for example) and then times you cried (New Years Eve). I think they got it spot on.

I was very worried at the beginning when they were listing all the designers for the wedding. I thought 'uh-oh, here we go, it's gonna be all about the fashion', but was pleased that it wasn't. I loved Jennifer HuRABon's character - the voice of youth - but felt they had changed Big a bit too much. He was too soppy for my liking...they should have made the jilting harsher. Still, I guess if they had done that, they couldn't have married off Big and Carrie at the end. And it was very weird to hear Carrie call Big, John, but then I guess she had been doing that for 10 years....we just never heard her before! The only really stupid bit was Charlotte crapping herself...the noises her stomach supposedly made were very unrealistic.

I'm amazed at how much older people can look in just 4 years though! Steve had aged the most...blimey!

I loved the movie though....it may have been 2 1/2 hours long, but I'd happily watch again. Roll on the DVD release. I will definitely be getting it on pre-release!

Haven't seen the film yet and promised myself I wouldnt read spoilers but...meh....I can't resist.

Re: the whole Anthony/Stanton thing. Am I the only person that used to get annoyed with the implied sexual tension in the show? It was kind of "we have two gay characters so of course they fancy each other". I never really got the "hate" each other vibe - more that they fancied the pants off each other and couldn't bring themselves to admit it!

I saw this yesterday lunchtime (the first showing of it at my local cinema!) and the place was already pretty full and apparently later shows in the evening had sold out.

I'm a huge fan of the series anyway, but I really loved the movie! The only criticism I have is the ending.. I just didn't think it was very realistic that after everything, Carrie would still marry Big. It seemed very predictable, but then again, I guess that's what a lot of people were hoping for. I would have preferred her to say no to him, but maybe that's just me being cynical, lol.

Overall, I loved it and had a great time. There are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments which go well together with the more sombre moments of the film. It's been said by many that the film is too long... am I the only one that didn't feel that way at all? Over two hours sounRAB like a long time for a film of this kind, but I didn't notice the time dragging at all while I was watching it.

All the storylines were great, although I felt Samantha didn't get all the screen time she deserves. It is very Carrie-centred but then I think that's only to be expected.

I'd recommend it to all SATC fans, and also for non-fans who could still enjoy the film despite not watching many, if any, episodes from the series. Despite the slightly disappointing ending, I'd still rate it 10/10. I'm going to see it again in a couple of days, and I can't wait!

I went to see it yesterday, and I was so worried that I was going to be disappointed, but I was actually pleasantly surprised! I loved it! I've been waiting so long for it to come out that I thought I was bound to be let down, but I definitely wasn't. :)
