Revival of the Moon Kingdom: Sailor Moon relicensed in Italy

Late to the discussion but FINALLY! I'm so glad that Sailor Moon is getting a relaunch. I'm also hoping that a re-license is in order with a brand new dub and no shoddy writing (although the DiC dub will forever have a special place in my heart).

If DVRAB get announced for this show, it's a Day 1 purchase for me.

Is there a difference between the types of anime properities VIZ and FUNIMATION would dub? Sorry, about the off topic question, but I was going to ask if there was any chance of either company picking this or either of the other companies anime they seemed to have abandoned (Detective Conan 126+) for Funi, (Hikaru No Go 73-75 + special) for Viz.

I know we are getting ahead of ourselfs, but who would you want in a redub cast of todays voice over actors and actresses, putting aside studios and who is contracted to which studio and which city they work in.

Off the top of my head, Johnny Yong Bosch as Mamoru Chiba. Mamoru is such a jerk half the time, and JYB has played so many jerks. Ichigo Kurosaki is one of his more nicer characters believe it or not.

They may not be contracted Funimation players since they are the favorites, but I would love if Kate Higgens and Kari Wahlgren are in a Sailor Moon dub cast. They are awesome.

Wow! One of the few people who missed out on his anime dubbing career after Power Rangers.

He's been in Trigun, Wolf's Rain, Haruhi, Eureka Seven and many more series and often times in a lead or supporting role.

O-chan

No way! He's also known for voicing Lelouch in Code Geass, Renton in Eureka Seven, Clair in Heat Guy J, Fuji in The Prince of Tennis, Vash and Trigun, and Kiba and Wolf's Rain. Plus many more.

EDIT: He also voiced Claus in Last Exile.

Code Geass is awesome up until the last few episodes. I'd still recommend it despite the lackluster ending, though. Eureka 7 is actually pretty dull. I would avoid it. Never seen Heat Guy J.

Bosch has been in almost everything. I still think his best was Vash The Stampede, though.

Ideally, I would love a DBKai type release for this show, but I really will take what I can get.

Just don't make a Higurashi level dub is all I ask.

Bosch has been in most LA anime dubs, which would amount to a lot.

He's also been in at least 80% of the games from Japan (No joke, almost as much as his partner in crime Yuri.)

Dunno how you missed him, since he's one of the most cast in anime dubs on the west coast.

Hearing about this recent discussion and the dedication to restart of the Sailor Moon franchise in Italy is great news. I missed out barely of the tail end of the franchise when I was younger. Seeing the promos for Sailor Moon on Cartoon Network in the Toonami block at the end in the late 1990s were edgy and action packed. I never saw an Anime series that had a kind of drive that Sailor Moon was delivering compared to previous Anime series I saw such as Pokemon and Noozles. I still search for copies of Sailor Moon manga at used bookstores, but I come up empty. If the series is planning to be restarted in the United States soon, I would expect the creator of Sailor Moon, Naoko Takeuchi, to come to an Anime Convention either Anime Expo, Otakon, A-kon, or Comic Con to announce jointly with Funimation to restart and redub the series either this year or next year. It would be a lot different than the dub we saw in the 1990s and there would be no more Molly. However, does Toei still have a lockdown on the Sailor Moon licenses in the United States?

If it is restarted, expect me to buy a copy of the manga.
