Opeth

I still need Still Life, I can't seem to find that album anywhere...

Orchid and My Arms, Your Hearse are my favorites out of all the others.

Maybe in the sense of riffing, drumming, or vocal power there is aggression, but in the sense of attitude, there really isn't any aggression. I dont really know what i'm trying to say, but i guess maybe that Opeth's music is purposeless. Idk, that'll probably piss some people off but i'm not very good at conveying my message.

And, in general, i tend to frown upon many black metal banRAB that incorporate folk or arabience into their music. Agalloch, primordial, and Arcuturus are all good banRAB but for the most part i really dont like that whole thing.

Yay an Opeth thread. They're my favourite metal band besides Iron Maiden. The music is just so perfect. Akerfeldt is a god. Anyway, my fav album is probably Blackwater Park, but all of their stuff is good. And Ghost Reveries is a great album.

I don't really jam to many banRAB with songs/arrangements that are that long, but I've covered some of them here and there...If they ever needed a "replacement" on stage, whether it was guitar or drums, I'd surely be capable and glad to take up the offer, though!!!:yeah:They're fuc kin' incredible live in concert and, although it would be physically intense, I would without a doubt still love to do it!!!

Yeah, it'd be really cool to see them live! :drummer:
How long have you been playing guitar and drums now? You must be amazing to be capable of playing for Opeth.:yeah:

Yes, they're a great band, but definitely a required...I mean...acquired taste!!!:D
For those who aren't into 7-15 minute jams, Opeth might not be one of their favorites, but for any accomplished musicians such as myself, Opeth are like a dark, brutal, jazzy, heavy, beautifulcreative, ghostly magic!!!

On top of that, they were an incredible live band!!!When I first heard some of the songs, I enjoyed listening to them very much...
...after going to see Opeth in concert, I honestly get more of a chill when I hear/play those great tracks!!!It's almost like the ghosts/spirits are there to accompany Opeth's great fans!!!

Go see them in concert if ya haven't already, ya hear?

Ghost Reveries isn't really my piece of pie... for some reason i don't really like the growling/screaming vocalist... so i'll just stick with Damnation, love it.

As I've already stated, I'm quite disciplined in the intense study of both instruments!!!Music is my favorite thing out of anything else out there and I take it, as well as my development/skills, very seriously!!!

I've jammed for many years (15?) on and off between both guitar and drums, but have focused deeply/passionately on mainly studying the art of drumming lately!!!I don't necessarily just jam at the speeRAB and levels that the artists on the albums do when I choose to jam along to them...sometimes I'll take a fast double bass drum beat that is being played in the song(s) and I'll play it twice as fast or move around it with my own/chosen alternating patterns!!!

I have also previously stated that I don't necessarily jam to tracks as long as the brilliant Opeth ones, but, on the other hand, I would be capable of mastering/memorizing them with some time!!!In other worRAB, with the skills I've developed over my time of very serious/disciplined study, I'd be able to memorize any "setlist" Opeth wanted me to know for the concerts as long as I was given the "info" a month ahead of time!!!

Good talking to ya once again, judas!!!Trust me though, it'll take alot of time to play along with a band like Opeth...don't ever take them as being just a good ordinary metal band; they are truly a brilliant band to master the skills of and jam to and I give them a lot of credit/respect for it!!!
