I don't like the Dpad myself, it's stiff and top rows of keyboard have no feedback at all.One thing that really concerns me is unusually bit louder vibration sound when you touch the screen.It's tough to describe, it's like somebody is scratching the phone.How to compare vibration sound with Nokia 5800? For me I think it's a defect, also I noticed non variable vibration randomly.Nokia 5800 haptic feedback was smooth with no sound whatsoever. I think the vibration motor inside N97 is messed up.Sometimes after switching on the phone, it hangs at Nokia logo until I take the battery out.I worked as Nokia support technician in Uk, so it's old habit, the way I inspect the phone.I'm practically looking for flaws, lol, I guess you have to for such an expensive phone. I found a creak, pressing lock switch inward creaks like hell, it's like, it's about to break.I'm glad that I don't have this issue.
 
That's fantastic.. My issues isn't I can't re download it (of course I can), the issue is I have to REPAY for paid apps. Just because you can re download free apps doesn't mean anything and I'm not quite sure why you are even trying to back Nokia with that argument lol
 
When I had mine, I also only used on hand. Typing, once you let the phone do it for you, becomes quick and easy. Then again, when you have a kid in one arm at all times, you adapt :P
 
EXACTLY! Now you've hit the nail on the head. I LOVE all the features on the N97 and they are enough to keep me busy and have lots of fun with the phone for the next 2 to 3 years up until something better comes out and until Nokia has another glitch on their website. :hehehe:
 
Isnt price relative to the buyer, i mean what would make the samsung better if the buyer jujst dont like it or the iphone for that matter if you pay 100.less for a locked iphone and are obligated to a $30 a month plan, now if you like the iphone then price dont matter as wel as the n97 or the omnia. :buddies:
 
I'm glad to see a new look for the n-series. Slide out qwerty and pop up display, awesome. Msmobiles.com is totally ripping on it and Nokia because it looks similar to HTC's Tytn II/At&t tilt. But since HTC didn't use the design for the new Touch Pro I think it was up for grabs. Plus Nokia improved the look and function w/ a D-pad on the keyboard. Only one party foul to mention though, proprietary charger and sync cables gotta go.
Nokia, should release it early and save me from buying a windows or apple phone. Ah what the hell, i'll just get the 5800 to hold me over till this one comes out!
 
Now I remember why it was so fresh in my brain. They discussed it on the Engadget Mobile podcast a few weeks ago and referenced the PDF file I'm thinking of, they touch on the same topic again in today's podcast if you wanna give it a listen.
 
No thanks especially with AT&t since most people would rather pay $15 for unlimited MediaNet plan than $30 personal PDA plan ($15 x 24 months = $360 extra for 2 years).

With T-Mobile, I rather pay $6 for T-Zones plan than the current $25 smartphone plan.
