*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N86 8MP

yes, i know that phonebooks and user data can be easily saved .. but how about programs preinstalled onto the phone? Does a hard reset delete these programs? if they are deleted, where do you go to download the pre-installed programs? I still learning this phone, so i don't know everything about this phone. If i do a reset, i wouldn't know if it deleted something because I might not have learned about this feature/program before

Thank you for pointing out that using the phone memory speeds up text messages, that was driving me crazy thank you. Here are some more pictures just to remind people what this phone is about.

This phone is on my very top of the list. It offers excellent overall package. I've done serveral comparasons with other phones from SE, previous Nokia models, Samsung, etc. and this is by far my favorite.

I'm not really feeling the black though...the washed out black colour really throws me off...the white is very very attractive, an eye candy.

Build quality is top notch. An advancement in the camera functionality with larger apature and faster mechanical shutter...well of course xenon would be better like previous said but Nokia stated this one comes with the 3rd generation dual led flash that shoots further than previous led flash models...so this definetely looks very promising. And like previous said, without the xenon flash, leds can function as flashlight and it doesn't drain as much battery life as xenon thanks to the 1200mah battery supplied.

The design of the white model especially looks a lot like its bigger brother N97. Basically the difference is like S60 v5 with 640x320 resolution and touch screen vs S60 v3, patch2 with 320x240, non touch screen.

With all that said earlier, it's 375euro at launch, so it's a very attractive choice for users who doesn't need expensive touch screen phones like N97 or HTCs or Idou for at least $200 more by speculation.

I'm in marketing and I think Nokia has market this product quite well in the mid-end phone segment.

Let's just hope the final reviews of the official N86 is as promising as its spec.

I wonder what's causing the delay since the phone has been released for sometime now and the phone just needs a NA chipsets for 3G.

It doesn't usually take 3 months after the phone is released in Europe for it to reach American shores.

these have been out for about 2 years. I tried out the Vuzix version and the Myvu version about 8-10 months ago. The ones tested were very difficult to get the alignment with the eye adjusted correctly. If it wasnt set just right you would get double vision and blurriness. In the end I returned each set after trying to get them to work comfortably for about a week

Also, if you wear eyeglasses it makes it even harder to adjust.

Hello Candyman: :clapping:

After two missed delivery attemps, and all that waiting, I really did not like the interface...I actually passed the N86 on to my thirteen year old.

I will be keeping my E71 for a very long time, the built quality is the best.

All smart phones?? I cant agree with this statement either.

I can recall the same things being said for each variant of the N95. Each new model was suppose to fix the problems of the previous versions.

Then came the N96, this was going to be the real N95. The one that everyone has been waiting for.

Oh wait. Finally the N85. Now this will be the Holy Grail. The it has to be the one.

And finally the N86.

I am just glad I didnt follow along like some, buying each new model hoping that it would finally fill my needs.

Why do you think the N95 still carries a price a high price tag? All the others have been trying to compete with the original.

Many people complain about all the Moto RZR phones and clones that were produced. Nokia has done the same thing. The N95 was a huge success and they have tried to build on that success.

The one thing that they are forgetting is that the N95 was ground breaking in just about every aspect. It offered a new form factor, an excellent camera, 3G, later models had 8gb of storage.

In order to capture that buzz, Nokia needs to reinvent the N95 again. A unique experience, a fresh form factor, the fealing that you are really getting something for your money (not just an upgrade)

When that happens, I will get excited about a phone.
