*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N86 8MP

That's pretty good of Amazon to do that. Sounds like they have excellent customer service. I wish they would ship to Canada. The Amazon Canadian site is garbage. lol.

Anyway, I hope the new replacement works out for you. Keep us posted! :2thumbs:

After using N86 for almost two months now, I am quite happy with its camera. Still I think it can be improved a lot. The image processing software implemented by nokia is not upto the mark. That is what holding N86 back. Had a chance to use samsung innov8 as well as ultra touch, both 8mp cams, the software is on the spot on those two handsets. I hope nokia will come with a firmware update that will make N86 the indisputed king in 8mp arena :)

I exchanged the Voyager Pro for another one and have the same problem. I guess that still doesn't tell me if the problem is the Voyager Pro itself or the N86. But it does some curious that I have sort of similar issues with two different headsets, the Voyager Pro and the Jabra Extreme.

Perhaps the new firmware will make a difference, although it's not showing up as available for my phone yet and I kind of want to wait a bit and make sure it's not full of new and annoying bugs that I don't want.

MY N86 never function again after i did the normal over the air upgrade, and the original n86 software is so buggy i would not buy another one be very careful about buying the n86 make sure you have more than 30 days for a refund as the phone will stop working due to software issues just google n86 software problems nokia and see

Yes I want to, but I think I just need to move completely away from Nokia. The E-series is nice, but without modern conveniences like auto suggestion that pulls names from the phone book or fast in device search or threaded SMS, or even a decent screen, I think I can do much better elsewhere now.

And frankly using a Nokia is just frustrating sometimes. The software is beta and they release it. They don't bother updating NAM phones. It's just too much aggravation to be different or to use a European phone.

The US smartphone scene is undergoing a renaissance and there's just so much out there now. I don't see why I should even bother with poor support, quirky behavior and just old technology (low res, small screen) anymore. Many of the features of owning a Nokia phone will require you to use OVI which is another pure garbage initiative from Nokia (like N-gage, Nokia Music, every other Nokia failure of the past 10 years).

I like the E55, but I'm sick of the stagation, the push for ****** services, the obviously paid for fanboys/viral marketing, the obviously fake hype (where's Gwapz with that "hot ****" that the CEO of Nokia showed him personally?), the lack of NAM support, the years late fixes for obvious problems (call log, purple tint etc.) and just the smug superiority I see from people using S60 like they are better human beings than iPhone users.

Bro, this Nokia thing is a **** show now.

I just want to make a quick move to anything else at this point. If you are new to it, well have fun with a few devices, they are not terrible but nowhere near what they used to be.

Personally If I were in the market for an N86, I would just go whole hog and get the OmniaHD. For a former N95 user, the N86 has NO draw for me AT ALL.

As a soon to be former E66 user, I can safely say about the E55 - been there done that. Sure it has changes, but they all things that cold have been in the E66. I mean it's the same phone with out a slide basically.

There's more out there these days especially in the new US driven smartphone market. I live here and I'd rather just deal with companies that don't take me for granted. Let Nokia work wonders in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. I don't care anymore, real innovation is coming from this soil for a change.

BinPDA is the one responsible for every single cracked application/games for Fp1 and now Fp2.My friend has like 40 ngage games cracked by BinPDA, just google it. I don't support piracy, I like something, I buy it, that's said, honestly, I never paid 1$ for a song, it's expensive. I've 17,890 songs and counting, everything else I buy.Speaking of music, king of pop MJ died :( Rest in peace MJ.

Did you try this game on your N95? I've impressed a lot of my friends with this, some still think that I fooled them.

yaaayyy :clapping: :clapping: , my fw is now upgradable too (can't wait to get home ... I prefer not to do it OTA).

Thanks for the alert! :buddies:

... and please let us know what changes I can look forward to ...

I am curious to whether a NAM will come out also. While I hear from sources that there will be a NAM version, I also hear that they may not. I guess as time asses it is pretty much hit or miss...

i was using PC. i will try with my wall plug later. thanks for the advice.

another question, has anyone used "ion batterytimer" to get an accurate battery life?

I'm not feeling that black color at all. For me it is white or nothing.

+1

I'm liking Profimail so much I don't think I'll ever go back to Nokia's email, especially not the "newer" client that uses an intermediate account.

I even PAID for it!! :p

gotta consider too though is that carriers have a limit on call quality as well. Cell phone calls sound like crap compared to land lines. it's not just because of the handset.
