*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N86 8MP

I wasn't looking on the web page. I logged into Bing and did a Bing search for the N86 and it listed nine places I could buy the N86 with cash back options indicated. Dell was there, but not with a cash back option.

Mine has far better battery life than my N95...I can text, take pictures, talk, stream music, and browse the web under my own, personal, "normal" conditions and I easily have about half a battery at night. My N95 would be dead by the time I walked into my house from work. If I don't stream music (mobbler or internet radio), the battery may drop only a bar or two. The phone manages the battery very well.

From the guy who has complained about many things regarding this phone, battery life is NOT one of them. I'm more than pleased in this area.

And I decided not to get rid of it; Amazon is sending me a replacement and they said I can send back the one I have anytime before three weeks from now.

I just love the phone too much to get rid of it :o

Where is there a lack? There are still plenty. One of the 6000 series phones they announced at MWC was a candybar (actually all of their 'Classic' series phones are candybars), there's the E55, the N78, the N79, and I'm probably missing several more.

Got my N86 from Amazon yesterday. As everyone else is reporting, I got the N86-3 (NAM) version. I like the stiffness of the slider--that was one of my complaints against the N95 I had. Camera button is a bit more "solid" feeling, has more travel to it than either my N97 or my N79, but in a way that could be a good thing. Keypad is very nice and usable, especially coming from the N79.... I've quite a happy customer at this point. :)

For what it is worth, the clowns at nokiausa.com customer service say the N86 pre-orders will ship between today and Friday. I will believe it when I see it.

As for the rest of the recent posts, I have lurked on this forum for sometime, but these posts were a pisser and got me to register.

I have a N86 on pre-order and don't expect it to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. However since I already need to carry a blackberry for work, it does look like the best combination of features for me - I don't want a touch screen as I can place calls faster with a real keyboard, I like the OLED screen, and the camera is a big plus. I just signed a new 2 year contract with AT&T, got a Samsung Solstice from them for $25 after rebate after saying I was going to bolt, and sold that on e-Bay for $275. With the "nokiatheatre" promotion code, the N86 will cost me $450, less my net proceeds of about $250 from the e-Bay sale, so for $200 I am sure I will be pleased with this phone.

Last Nokia I had was that little tiny all silver slider. What was that model?!
