*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N86 8MP

I understand it can be cloudy, but the sky shouldn't look like that in the pictures. Mine doesn't rattle when I shake it. My slider isn't symmetrical anymore (left side higher), but I guess that's expected for sliders.

Just think of it this way Josesxi ... you get just about everything you enjoy about your N82 - no Xenon I know - but you get forward support on 3.2 and better keypad, and finally a solid slider. Man I seriously got to get a wallpaper as slick as yours.

When they mean in a room with no carpet, perhaps they meant you sound hollow? There is a difference being in a room that is carpeted vs a room that has hardwood floors.

Thanks for responding. I think I'll wait abit before getting the N86. I plan on getting the E72 first instead.

I don't think anyone has found a way to do that.
The best option is probably to make a Home Screen shortcut for Opera to replace the Web shortcut. Copy and Paste web links to Opera.

Thanks. Yeah, I was looking for ways to downgrade. It does seem possible with some complex firmware flashing tools, but you really have to know what you're doing. And it's not clear that the older firmware for the N86 is available, certainly not from any official source, but not even unofficial ones.

I guess I'll be calling Nokia. Thanks again.

the camera seems show "processing image" after v20. i just did a hard reset. it still takes a long time

when i have previous captured image ON; the "process image" word is on the bottom left corner of screen.

When I have show captured image OFF; the screen is blank and the words are in the middle of the screen.

I've owned a 5800 before, and it never takes this long. ALSO, i would say the video quality is better than n86 as of right now. which is sad :( 3mp vs 8mp.

my 3mp 5800 nokia video capture was not choppy and it didn't take very long to process between images and videos.

The n86 I have now, seem to take 6-8sec for 8MP images to process and the videos I record are choppy still. when I move the camera left, right, up or down, OR if the object i'm capturing is moving, there is lag. The object in the video would freeze for 1sec, then move to the left. then freeze again, and it will move left again.[/QUOTE
when you take a pic and it says processing you can press the camera button again and it should let you start to take another pic while the first pic is being processed in the background. if your device will not let you do that and your video is choppy then you might have a defective unit. i save my pics and videos to the e drive and they work well enough. you might consider sending it back for a replacement.

This thing is sweet (Got it yesterday from Amazon), my first Symbian, I cant stop messing with it.

The screen does go kinda weird when focusing, other than that, its nice, perfect weight, feel in hand etc.

Why is it BS, because your experience was different?
As if people such as myself made it up in the past, just to stir the pot.
It's one thing to post your experience, it's another to call BS on things other people have been through.

Hold out for the Nam.
If you switch carriers or have to sell the phone it will be easier.
I know that i as a buyer, i never purchase the over seas version after i had a warranty nightmare with my n73. (for the record my n73 was supposed to come with an american warranty but the seller screwed me).

I find it easy to open it where the two hole openings are with a finger nail. My USB cable is indeed part grey. I don't believe all places that create the phone make the the phone exactly the same as someone mentioned. I don't like camera tone 1 because it sounds like a camera. I would like to take pictures without people knowing. :D Tone 4 is nothing but a beep.

Read my last post.
