*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

What I still want to know is how easily is the device locked? I hate the way the N82 locks. I want a simple yet effective way to lock the device before I put it in a holster or my pocket. Any phone thats this style NEEDS to have this feature. Sorry to say it but thats ONE thing the iPhony got right. Just hit that one button and its locked. Atleast they got the reminder notification right finally!

Hi rapolu,

It's like on the E61 you need to press the key on the far left with the little triangle once for only one number or twice if you want to enter a few numbers and then press it again to go back to letters. Ooops just realised that's not what you meant in your post but try it anyway it may work.

Are you in a strong or weak 3G area? Hold down the home button until you see the pop up of running apps. Do you have a bunch of crap running? Try switching your network selection to UMTS only and see if that helps. Keep running apps closed if you notice any running in the background. My battery wasnt making it through a whole day and I was dropping calls. So I turned it to UMTS only and this has helped. I still have the Noki Beta email pushing my email and Ive only lost 2-3 bars today.

This thread is 44 pages long. I never seen a phone that didnt get released that was 44 pages long.... Its safe to say but is it safe that it'll be on ATT??????????

Since the E71 is narrow, a horizontal holster clipped to the belt would be nice and should work out nicely. I use a horizontal holster for my E61i, since it is bit wide, it keeps on remind me to loose a few pounds when I sit down while the holster is clipped to my belt  .

That's could be so, but with the exception of the contacts search on the home screen (that I don't really care much about), I got zero issues so far and don't need an update (though I'd replace the APAC firmware with EURO one eventually). If there was one thing that I don't like it is the call history (issue not limited to E71 only), I want it to show the proper icon (e.g. cell, home, work etc.). As it is right now, I can't really dial from the history for most of my contacts with multiple numbers (I need to know where it is dialing).

Well, WiFi and BT use the same 2.4GHz frequency, so it is possible they will interfere with each other. I would suggest removing the headphones and re-pair them. If you have access to changing the channel on the AP, change it to a higher one.
