*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Your right - we really shouldn't be making a judgement call on this phone until the real one is introduced/released. I for one am looking forward to the size of this phone but I have no idea as to the execution of the product.

No offense but you must be deaf...I can hold this thing in front of my face and hear what the other person is saying throught the ear piece.

Maybe you have a bad handset?

Right, but it doesn't make as much sense for T-Mobile. Why would they sell a phone that has their competitor's 3G, and not their own 3G? The places that sell the E62 for T-Mo, or even the E61i, aren't selling an AT&T 3G phone. They're selling a quad-band EDGE phone.

I think that will make a world of difference.

And... I really hope that Nokia is holding back on a T-Mobile 3G variant that will go to the FCC when T-Mobile's 3G network is more widely distributed.

Blackberry just raised the bar (again). Blackberry has their core customers, mostly corporate users, but in recent years they've made major in-roads into the consumer sector. I was a BB user, nee Crackberry addict?, for several years as a non-corporate user. Several limitations brought me back to S60 and Nokias, but this 9000 a.k.a. Bold might win me back. Documents To Go is huge. Before that you had limited native support and the only full option was Dynoplex's eOffice for something like $100. More for document storage, which was necessary for a lot of usability features. HTML email was always through third-party apps (paid for) and was slow. Now OS 4.6 has native support. And the final kicker was 3G. None on Blackberrys - until now. First AT&T's 3G, then T-Mobile's in a late summer model. Add a 2 MP camera (bare minimum for what I consider acceptable) with video recording, an unbelievable screen with 480X320 resolution, gobs of internal memory plus support for 16 MB memory cards, WiFi, built-in GPS and you have a winner with damm near all the roadblocks to ownership removed. RIM listened. They kept the best features of previous models and added what the users have been clamoring for. Price: $300 - $500 from the carriers (subsidized).

I'm guessing it means shipping out of factory/warehouse to distributors. So X1367 or Plemix may have them soon....I'm hoping anyways...I don't think it will be readily available till beginning of July though.

Here's the newest E71-2 NAM owner!

I'm overjoyed to FINALLY return to Nokia! It's been a crazy few years as I've moved from Samsung (CDMA) to Motorola (GSM), and after some sub-par experiences - and a battle (in my mind of course) between the Blackberry Bold or the E71, I took the plunge and picked up my first Nokia yesterday - after moving on from the Nokia 3360 and the 5190 (classics!) from back in the day.

So I've been playing around with my E71-2 NAM and had a question regarding the Micro SDHC memory. Any tips or suggestions on brands of Micro SDHC memory? Living in Canada - I can't really walk into a Nokia store and pick up their 8GB version - although I would love an 8 gig card.

What are you all using? What capacity? Will a Sandisk, Kingston or PNY brand work as well?

Thanks for all your help!
