*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

They need to hire us HoFo'ers to promote their products. I've sold the most useless products to the people. I dont see why I wont be able to promote this which actually has a powerful feature set. The little flash clips and youtube vids is NOT enough, and this device has potential. Look at the sheer number of pages in this thread BEFORE the launch itself. If us techies love it, it'll be easier to promote it to the non-geeks.

Hi Trent,

Are you activating the Auto Focus with the T key first? as mine always worked no problems. Actually i really like the way pressing the T key activated the Auto Focus and that you then had up to 1 minute to frame and take your picture. I actually found it much better than pressing the shutter key waiting for the green square and then fully pressing the shutter key as on other devices as i found it far more flexible.

It's a perfect business model. Get the early adopters to buy them, and then get the 2nd phase dudes like me to get the ones with US 3G bands . Making money either way!

I just didn't want people to think I was an Apple Fanboy :D , but in all honesty, Nobody knows what the new Iphone will be like and if the design doesn't change and all they do is add 3G, than probably old Iphone users will not upgrade.

Anyways, I'm really looking forward to the E71, but just wish that Nokia would release it already as I'd really like to get playing. The transitions look awesome and I really liked the ability to look up contacts on main/home screen....I think that's a great feature....now if they only add category sync we'll be golden :2thumbs:

I know we're all hyped up for the E71 - I know I am - but so far what we've seen is spy pics and rumors. What we've seen gotten so far could be glimpses of one possible version. Nothing definitive. What they release, whenever they decide it's ready, could be changed considerably from these pics and guess work about specs.

Is the "breathing" light able to be set for different missed messages, emails, calls etc? Also, does it notify with colors or diff pulses, or both. Thanks.

Nokia does not honor warranty outside of the market the phone was purchased in, not just the E71. Strange for such a big international company, and sad of course, but nothing we could do about it. Obviously, the reason is price discrimination, and it is much easier to maintain with warranty coverage. Same hapenned between Canada/US for cars when they were much cheaper in Canada and dealers were exporting to the US. The automotive companies would not honor the warranty, but I think they lost in court and had to. Only option to ship to the country it was bought from.
