Any chance of the 3200, or some other non pvr dual tuner reciever, comming out again? A dual tuner machine would be a perfect fit, along with my 9200.

Both of the 3200's I have took the v104 update without a problem
So both are working as they should (no lockup's, search OK, caller ID working)
No obvious difference, altho placeemnt of caller ID notification may have changed

Will check into whether the guide is being downloaded each night at 3AM - I have it set to that

How can I tell if my unit is updating.

I did a reset and then followed your directions.

Currently the bell box is moving around.

I just got off the phone with BEV tech support for the umpteenth time, after sinding me a new 3200 because my old 3200 wouldn't downgrade from software 104 to 103, the new unit will not turn itself on when a timer is setup, the CSR said the new software was version 125, is this true? I've changed the transponder to 13 and I am waiting for the update. I looked in the other messages and the current software in the stream seems to be 103.

I called again last night (never got an update) and lo and behold 125 is for the 5200 not the 3200, I hate it when tech support doesn't listen...

The latest tip is to set up all my timers manually and set them to |one time" instead of weekley.. so glad I'm going to have to do this for all the stuff I record

Details! Anything new work? like call display or interactive TV? all mine has been doing is locking up, still on 104, I guess 107 is a hard pill to swallow.

There is a bug in the software update code in v104.
The 3200 will try to update and then crash and reboot.
Once in a while they won't crash and they will actually update - how long it could take nobody knows.
Way to go Bell!

Not sure about the 3200 being rereleased. It wasn't a very popular unit so there will not be another dual tuner model. The 3200 is a good unit but I'd wait for another firmware version to be released before using it. The current firmware appears to have a problem with upgrading. Sources tell me units which have version V107 will be rolled back to an older version soon.

YEah
I'm contiunuing to crash, despite the streaming of v107 only - no update for me

This is different to other stubborn updates, where it kept trying to DL the update - here it seems to be truly crashed, so I assume no more happens until it is reset by us

Ah well - how many hours will that cost me pleading with CSR's as they waste my time with generic suggestions, before I get thru to a CSR layer who might be able to do something

Sorry if I'm cynical, but they have quite a business - buggy software, then probably 6-10 more of my hours messing with this

BTW if someone does get a reliable way to overcome this - would they be able to post aticket number here, so that we coul ddirect CSR's to it
It seems as if a full reset is one possiblity - can this only be doen when there are Tier 3 people around - I believe this is MOn - fri working hours EST only

OK, so what about the rest of us:confused: My receivers are outside of this range and I am having all of the problems listed, please Bell send me the update:rolleyes:

I received my 4th 3200 replacement on monday and after finally trying it out the audio problem seems to be fixed!! I also noticed that I'm at software version 109 I hope the problem is finally fixed

Actually I already got legal advice from a lawyer, my contract/warrenty says they will replace the unit with a similar or better unit, a 3 year old 4700 is not similar or better. They had technical issues with the 3200 and sold me the unit anyways, there is a juris prudence in Quebec about selling faulty material. I'm not saying the wiring is BEV's fault, the fact that the machine doesn't work as advertised is their fault. If my car is under warrenty and dies it's not the manufacturer's fault that I'll be late for work, but they had better fix the problem, and BEV has not managed to resolve the problem since february.

Edit: I just noticed V104 is back in the stream I will have to try and get the update, hopefully this will resolve the problem and I can go back to being a happy BEV subscriber.

update on the 3200 comment about a "recall". I talked to Bell a couple of times about the 3200 and they indicated that they haven't recalled them, but they do admit that they have some minor software issues with it that they are working on.

I'm threatening you with two puppets now? Oh OK! ;)

I make a joke about the two Beavers in the Bell ad during the Super Bowl and you flame me for it. Maybe you work for Bell and was the guy who came up with the Beaver idea?

Just an update - after a lot of looking I found a 3200 locally, great deal for 99 bucks...

Does anyone know how to set the timer so the receiver will shut itself off?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks Very Much

Mine is getting worst.

It wont power on by remote, reset it 2 times so far. I wonder if its trying to download the update and hanging.

Anyone else manage to get the update.

A.

No one has a fully functional 3200 because there is no bell 3200 software that is fully functional. I think bells just given up hope on this receiver.

When I got my 3200 last year the software rev was V103 and it had all kinds of problems with it hanging and just going out all the time. When the v104 software came out my 3200 had a hard time updating... took like a week before... it kept rebooting and rebooting when ever it was trying to download the v104 software. I was getting pissed! Then I found it had finally taken the v104 update... OK it's been working ok but there is no caller ID working and no Interactive Itv stuff like games... but I guess that’s asking for alot considering what I went through just trying to get it to work for TV.
