Nokia 5800 XM NAM(850/1900): Reviews, Issues, Tips, Tricks & Support Thread!!

I find it hard to believe that other countries dont have phone systems that ask for letters to be entered for calling or in an automated system. Pretty sure its a universal system not related to a certain country. Nokia clearly just forgot it. Because followwing that logic, ok fine, uk doesnt use it. But nokia made 2 versions of this phone. If usa is the only place that used letters then nokia would have included it for the nam version and left it out of the euro version. But they didnt even do that. They just plain forgot it.

I installed the Ovi Store, and now I have 2 Ovi Store icons in my Applications folder. When I checked the Apps manager I see 3 things listed as Ovi Store.

Ovi Store (802 kb)
Ovi Store Client (450 kb)
Ovi Store Launcher (17 kb)

Which one(s) should I keep and which one(s) should I delete?

Also I noticed these 2 as well that I was wondering about:

Download! (15kb)
D!Replacement (1kb)

Do I still need these?

if you are trying to dial while driving stay away from touchscreen phones period. it will probably save your life and save your car. i am a DAMN good t9 texter on my n95, but i do not even try to text or fumble with the 5800 while driving, or any of my past touchscreen phones for that matter. it is simply impossible if not the most dangerous thing you can do while driving,

I don't have a 5800 (yet). I've been following this thread with interest. And with Rogers dropping the HUP price to $50, it's tempting.

I've found that the 5800 camera gives better results if you take the time to setup the variables thru the menu rather than just let it go on automatic.

hello everyone.........

Few days back while surfing internet i came to one website which is offering Unlocked Nokia 5800 NAM (US 3G) for Just $329. i think it is excellent deal.............

it's probably not released for your branded phone. your carrier has to release the update. otherwise, you need to debrand it by changing product codes and flashing it with a firmware downloaded off navifirm. there should be a tutorial if you search on google

i was going to pick up the ne one as well for that price. but since i have an n97, i didn't see a point lol

how much are you selling your 5800 for? if it's cheap i'll pick it up for my mom.

From what I understand, you are only prioritizing within a destination. For example if you have multiple Wi-Fi access points, then you move up or down.

I can not make my Wi-Fi access point as priority1 and change my only defined WAP services as priority 2.

I think I'm asking how can prioritize between destinations.
