[NEWS] R.I.P. Kids WB 1995-2008, Kids'WB.com Emerges April 2008

For the summer, probably, but 4Kids will most likely keep only one or two shows in the fall, if that.

Here's the new logo, if anyone is interested:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

They already killed One Piece and now they got the rest of my saturday morning?I hate 4Kids! Whats gonna happen to spiderman!?

From what I understand, Get a Clue! is done, as well as The Batman and Legion of Superheroes.

The only shows CW 4Kids are most likely going to bring over are Johnny Test and Spider-Man, then aside from the E/I required hour, fill the rest of the block with new shows/carry overs from 4Kids.

Does this mean as of Fall 2008 FOX will drop 4 Kids TV and CW will acquire it?

Are World of Quest and Spider-Man still a go for Spring 2008 on the last of Kids WB on CW?

But if FOX passes 4 Kids TV to CW, FOX may launch a Saturday morning news show possibly named FOX NEWS SATURDAY to compete against CBS Saturday Early Show, NBC's Saturday Today Show, and ABC's Good Morning America Saturday.

And what about a midseason return for Loonatics on the last of Kids WB on CW?

And will 4 Kids re-acquire the rights to Pokemon since it was a staple on Kids WB from 1999 to 2006?

Wow. I knew that Kids' WB was doing pretty bad in terms of ratings, but I didn't think that they were that low. Dang. Even most of 4KidsTV's lineup has better ratings than most of their shows here.

I think it's a bit too early to know when any of these shows will be cancelled or renewed. I doubt that 4Kids knows what their fall lineup is yet either. My guess is that we may find out around mid to late spring or maybe early summer at the latest.

Kids WB was lacking for me in the last years, but when it was in it's golden age, man was it golden. I'll miss you Kids Wb, and all of your shows.

Am I the only one that thinks 4Kids ISN'T to blame here? Look, CBS's henpecked WB's interrests into dropping the line up. They could have gotten rid of it completely for all we know, but they sold it to the competition. 4Kids didn't tell them to sell. They took advantage of it, yes, but they aren't totally to blame. And even if the other shows do get the can on the network, they'll possibly be on some other network. And that's ONLY if they can't afford to keep the shows from kid's Wb. And even if they did, the WB produced ones would likely be reruns, as WB wants to get out of the animation business outside of DTV films.

The CW= terrible idea. UPN shoulda just liquidated.

I would blame the 7am time slot, but I actually saw some of that series... why in the heck would make them decide to make a series based off a Diaper mascot?

Yeah, I was using it as an analogy. Plus, the people that wind up running that company seem to not want to be there. Again, another Kids WB/TRU compairison. And the lack of variety.... another one.

But looking at crap like Skunk Fu... I mean, are they even trying with their non-WB programs? I mean, they have been laboring to make The Batman better, and apparently this is its last season (but that's third hand knowledge) They thankfully decided to drop loonatics, which was a bad idea from the start. Don't get me wrong. looney Tunes fighting evil has some potential, if you were willing to have fun with it. They didn't. That's why I think Duck Dodgers was a better attempt.

I'm still a might sore they didn't give Xiaolin Showdown a proper ending. not even a DTV movie. just saying "Oh, Raymundo... you're the leader." "YAAAAAY" Fade to black. thehn randomly adding it a fourth season of reruns. I find it odd they'd do that in this day and age. I recall it worked well in the old days. Some shows only had one season, but it would be rerun for years to come.

I just hope this is a dry spell. Not a trend.

You sir are correct.

...

What the fluke?

Kids WB! beats 4Kids TV MOST of the time. Why are they giving up?! Just like Fox Kids! I won't be sappy and all on Kids WB!, but giving a slot to 4Kids will make another bad decision made by the stupid folks at both Time Warner, and CBS. Lisa Judson, you're a bad influence at WB Animation, except for some things you guys do, like T-Works, and Peanuts. That makes WB Animation outlet less, ONCE AGAIN. I'm not counting Cartoon Network, because, well WB and Cartoon Network.....well, they could work together again. I wonder if this is Cartoon Network's chance to shine again.

I know it's not a monopoly over the Saturday morning market, but it is a near monopoly of the Saturday morning BROADCAST market.

ABC Kids is essentially Disney Channel repeats, and kids are going to watch that.

KEWLopolis on CBS and qubo on NBC are nothing more than pseudoeducational tripe nobody's watching anyway.

So, that leaves 4KidsTV on Fox and now 4KidsTV with Kids' WB shows on The CW. Two nearly identical programming skeins with limited e/i programming. 4Kids is programming BOTH networks and will decide which one will benefit them more.

Picture this possible scenario.

4KidsTV on Fox airs a successful show they own outright. 4KidsTV on The CW airs another successful show that is produced by a third-party producer (let's say Sony) at the same time. Now, what's better for their bottom line, the show that benefits them and their employer directly or the show that benefits only their employer? It's a legitimate question that 4Kids and anyone involved with them will have to ask themselves. Would they base their decisions for business or professional reasons? How would they work with third-party companies?

That's why I'm questioning the whole deal.

Why 4Kids? I'd think a third-party like Cookie Jar or Nelvana would throw themselves at that opportunity. It could have been the only chance to see something like Being Ian, Class of the Titans, Ruby Gloom, or others in the US. Oh well.

Oh,ok.You don't have to.No worries. XP

Are people still going on about this? The only thing ever worth watching on it was Pokemon' back in it's golden era.
Shaolin Showdown as well.

There is a possibility of that happening, but it honestly depends on whether or not 4Kids would be interested in keeping the show on the morning lineup. I don't see why they wouldn't since I'm sure that it will do pretty well and they could get a slice of the profits from the series itself. Only time will tell.

You're not the only one. I've never really seen how 4Kids could really be blame for this. The lineup was up for sale and they simply bought it. It's just a matter of business really. If they don't want any of the shows that are currently on Kids' WB, they'll most likely end up on CN or possibly be released on DVD in the future. CN usually airs a lot of the cartoons from Kids' WB. I understand that WB wants to get out of the animation business, except for DTV films, but would that really make them cancel all of their current shows? I know that The Batman just ended, but I don't know if that you affect their other series. I'm just a tad confused there.

I couldn't agree with you even more. I remember hearing how everyone thought that it was a great idea to combine these stations with their best shows into one new station, but it completely backfired on them. It would have been a much better plan to just keep the two stations separated from one another, especially since they seemed to be stronger divided than united in this case.

Wow. That was fast. I thought that 4Kids wouldn't take over the block until September for some reason. That logo looks kind of weird too. Probably because of the total contrast in the styles of the 4Kids title and the CW. My guess is that they'll just keep the repeats of the current lineup until fall and then wait until fall for their new shows. The only ones for sure that will be on their will be Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's and the new season of TMNT. It would be cool if they kept the new Spider-man series on their too since it would be awesome to see that show and TMNT back-to-back, or at least on the same channel like that.

There are people out there who are pretty sad about the block being changed. While I do have great memories of watching Kids' WB, I'm not as disappointed or as sad as some other people are, or at least as they were when the announcement was first made. I also thought that the block had some other good shows to watch other than Pokemon, such as Yu-Gi-Oh!, The New Adventures of Batman and Superman, Batman Beyond, Static Shock and the first two or three seasons of Jackie Chan Adventures. I thought that those shows were pretty good and enjoyable to watch after school and on Saturday mornings. Those memories are why I actually am a bit sad about the block being replaced, but I completely lost touch with Kids' WB once my only remaining reasons to watch it, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh!, were taken off the block, with Yu-Gi-Oh! being more reasonable since it did reach its conclusion.
