[NEWS] R.I.P. Kids WB 1995-2008, Kids'WB.com Emerges April 2008

With Kids WB leaving for 4 Kids, I bet in Fall 2008 the long running syndie show that airs following most Kids WB lineups on CW affiliates Saturdays - Soul Train - will also be gone despite being in "Best of Soul Train" 1970's/1980's reruns since late 2006.

I just saw a commercial during Tom and Jerry Tales that said starting Saturday May 24th Kids WB becomes CW 4KIDS. I wonder what this could mean? I was thinking maybe they are doing this because all new episodes might be over for the season. Well I guess Kids WB will be gone sooner than we thought less than a month away. R.I.P. KWB.

After Looking at Sketch and Jeff Harris' scheds, i think i founda blen that'll fit just right

Every Network keeps it's same shows, except TMNT is traded for Magi-Nation

$K!DS WB

7.0 Baby Looney Tunes
7.5 Will and Dewitt
8.0 Johnny Test
8.5 Tom and Jerry Tales
9.0 Scooby and Shaggy Get a Clue
9.5 New WB Animation Comedy
10.0 Skunk Fu!
10.5 Spectacular Spidey
11.0 The Superman/NEW TMNT Series
11.5 TMNT Fast Forward/(Legion of Superheroes/The Batman)

The Game Station

8.0 Magi-Nation
8.5 Dinosaur King
9.0 Dinosaur King
9.5 4K!DS TCG Show
10.0 Chaotic
10.5 Yu-Gi-Oh GX
11.0 Banjo Kazooie(Sp?)/Microsoft Yuonger Skewing Game:The Series
11.5 Viva Piniata

Here are the comments

-Game Station will become Fully Game once TMNT FF leaves. They'll come up with a new lame ass TCG concept(I'm picking Space) and They'll adapt a Microsoft game into a series ala Viva Piniata. Magi-Nation is probably failing at K!DS WB, so a little 4K!DS PR and it should do fine. Nearly every show gets a new and better timeslot(Except Viva Piniata)

-$K!DS WB: Now Serving TMNT and 2 New Series. A slapstick humor and a DC Aniamtion Show. DC Animation Show might not be a new show(Probably not the The Batman which will hit 65 eps this year). If they Legion still fails to impress, see it carted to Toonami where it'l lprobaby get another 13 epsidoes and swap in The Superman. Also, don't rule out Thundercats in that slot, but don't hold your breath. Now to other matters. So yes, all the comedy is renwed(I don't count Eon Kid as a comedy). World of Quest probably won't debut Mid Season, so expect it new 08-09 or on Dynomite Action Squad(Gunning on the later). Also, don't forget that the E/! hour gains Baby Loooney Tunes, which i think will lead into a new Looney tunes retooling for 09-10

With all likelihood it's a distinct possibility that Legion of SuperHeroes and the Batman may end up on Toonami.

But this is surprising.

I just received this press release from Kids'WB. Bruce Rosenblum, President, Warner Bros. Television Group, has this to say regarding the 4Kids Entertainment/The CW Network deal:

I'm still startled by this news, myself.

Comments?

Considering I was one of them, I can see how they could easily mistake that as a 4Kids thing (especially since it sounds like a lot of their voice actors work on it). It is the worst form of cartoonified wrestling I've ever seen, and I love cartoon wrestling.

Anyway, who wants to bet that FOX will now become one of those pathetic syndicated type channels that air those horrible syndicated programs they air to fill in the FCC requirements. You know those endless terrible cheap nature shows from the mid 90's. Oooohhh... I really hope they can hammer out a deal with another production company. And definately not Cookie Jar.

In Chicago, the 4 Kids TV block does not air on WFLD FOX Chicago Saturday mornings, but airs on FOX owned My Network TV affiliate WPWR My 50 Chicago. I bet in Fall 4 Kids TV will be on WGN CW 9 Chicago.

Wow, this is really sad, not to mention, a complete shock. The only cartoons I watch (besides Simpsons, Family Guy, and American Dad) are on Kids' WB, and every year, I look forward to coming back to Sat. Morning. Hard to believe it's all coming to an end. I loved the majority of what they put out over the years, and all of a sudden ... it's gone.

Really, really sad.

Hey... take the money and run. As I said, everyone's following Enron's business model now. And besides, if you can make money without even trying, why bother to try to be the best?

All I'm saying is that if these lazy greedy farts would just pay someone to make them a show, they might get recognition and maybe actually can be competitive. They'd rather sell informercial time. Infomercials. Jeeeezzz... why not just convert the station to dead air or sell it to a Mexican broadcasting conglomerates? Might as well go whole hog.

Last weekend during a promo for their Speed Racer sweepstakes, instead of saying "Log onto kidswb.com for more info!" the said "Log onto CW4Kids.com for more info!"

I didn't think anything about it at the time but, I suppose it make sense.

Uh huh... so the good news is they're still in the kid-vid animation biz. That's a relief. But this sounds more and more like WB is going to be putting their shows on other networks... and CN definently comes to mind.

Let's just face it. Satuday morning cartoons are dead, weekday cartoons are dead (not counting PBS), and Cable cartoons are on life support with a bunch of yesmen monkeys all too eager to pull the plug.

There will be no doubt Fox will replace their line up with that stuff they call news, or just throw together a crap educational requirement line up, comprised of cheap pathetic junk no one watches so they can keep their FCC licence.

Seriously, what in blazes is this? There have always been these cable networks, at least in the 90's. If they actually bothered to hire and pay people to try to be competitive, maybe they wouldn't be losing the battle. The one thing I hate is how we're told all our lives to work hard and never give up, and that's exactly what these people aren't doing. Sure, Daddy gave you that block of programming to manage, but you'd rather be drinking instead. So just run it into the ground and take whatever money's left.

If you want competitive ratings, try competitive programming. Don't just rerun Sabrina the Animated series from 1999 over and over.

Way I see it, Kid's WB is like Toys R Us. They crush the competition, causing it to die off, and now that it's actually losing a little money, they bail out.

Wow, that was really fast. Can't believe 4Kids is taking over the block in less than a month. Figured it wouldn't be until fall.

Looks like the block won't be changing much outside the name. At least not until fall.

No kidding.

I thought Kids' WB was toast, but I at least thought that Cookie Jar would have first crack at anything since they're so close.

But 4Kids?!? That's . . . wow. Just when you thought they were dead, they're creeping back, not only on one network, but two.

Isn't that kind of illegal?

I mean, I know this is the last season of The Batman and Spectacular Spider-Man is going to be two seasons. But 4Kids?!?

Seriously?!?
