[NEWS] R.I.P. Kids WB 1995-2008, Kids'WB.com Emerges April 2008

Huh, that's really weird. I didn't see any 4Kids shows during that promo, so I guess for the summer it's just going to be Kids' WB shows airing on The CW 4Kids. It makes me think that Warner Bros. might have more say in the block than we first thought...or maybe not. It could be that 4Kids paid the folks at Warner Bros. a good sum to start advertising the name sooner...

I don't think that any ratings for The Spectacular Spider Man, or any show for that matter, will change Kids' WB's future. It's a pretty done deal that 4Kids will take over the block this fall. I'm sure that The Spectacular Spider Man will stay on the block, based on how I've heard that it is suppose to have the first season aired on that block. Even if 4Kids won't keep it after that, but I think that there's a good chance that they will, I'm sure that it would go to Cartoon Network at the very least.

Final K6-11 Ratings for Saturday, January 26, 2008 Broadcast Networks only (Live + SD Data):
Source: Disney Research from Nielsen Media Research Data
CW (Kids' WB!) 0.8/4 Avg. (7a-12p)
Will & DeWitt 0.3/4; Magi Nation 0.6/5; Shaggy Scooby-Doo Get A Clue 0.7/4; Tom and Jerry Tales 1.4/6; Skunk Fu! 0.9/4; Johnny Test 0.9/4; Teen Titans 0.8/3; Eon Kid 0.9/4; Legion of super Heroes 1.1/5; The Batman 0.8/4

Gee, look at how abasymal those ratings are. It's no wonder why Kids' WB will soon be dead.

We can only hope that 4Kids had to pay a lot of money for this and it winds up blowing in their face and killing them off faster.

Hopefully The Batman, The Spectacular Spider-Man and other good shows will either live on, or get picked up by CN.

Although I haven't watched Saturday Mornings in years, this is a rather sad development, because I have so many fond memories of watching KidsWB.

I think unless it tanks they'll keep Spider-Man earlier than the 11 hour but they probably wont give a crap about Legion of Super Heroes unless it remains #1 for the rest of the year.

And actually my I/E requirement was Winx though that hardly counts then again... Magi-Nation is I/E and that's just non-sense.

Well during the promo I just saw all it showed was Kids WB shows but no sign of 4kids shows or Shaggy and Scooby Doo Get a Clue (so I guess it is really over :crying:). Hopefully 4Kids decided to keep all Kids WB shows.

Good-bye, KidsWB. It's been a great run these past 13 years.:crying:

As a huge animation fan, and watching SATAM my whole life, this is considered a combination shock/slap-in-the-face for me.:crying:

When it started back in 1995 we had some good shows: Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries, and later Tiny Toons. Uh, forgive me everyone but Freakazoid and Earthworm Jim could've been a lot better. Then, we got the terrific Superman: TAS and then new eps (at the time) of Batman: TAS.

But then, Pokemon came along. It was good at first but after awhile, I couldn't stand the "running gag" thing, if you get my meaning.:( That and the countless reruns as well.

Then, at the turn of the century we had 2 great action shows: Men In Black: The Series and Jackie Chan Adventures. They'll always be my favorites.:D Oh, and let's not forget Batman Beyond too.:) As well as the short-lived Zeta Project.:) (Too bad the final ep was only shown in Canada. )

I mustn't also forget about the original Yugioh series. It may have had some terrible dialogue, but after awhile I really thought the characters were enjoyable. I'll never forget the lovely Mai Valentine.:anime: :D

Finally, there was What's New, Scooby-Doo: a new, revamped version of my fave characters! I thought Mindy Cohn & Grey Delisle played excellent new versions of Velma & Daphne!:D I also thought Xiaolin Showdown was very enjoyable too.:)

Now, with the current line-up, and with 4Kids purchasing the SATAM block, it looks as if KidsWB is just about to die. The only current show I like is Legion of Superheroes. The Batman could've been so much better in it's first 2 seasons. Plus, I'm sorry but I feel Shaggy & Scooby Get a Clue is just plain awful!:crying: As for 4Kids itself, the only shows I like are: TMNT, Chaotic, and even though I haven't seen much of Dinosaur King yet, I do like a couple of characters: Zoe & Ursula seem like pretty decent ladies. Unfortunately, I can't stand Viva Pinata.

As of next September, who knows if I'll be able to find something enjoyable other than the new Transformers and Spiderman shows?! CN has pretty much gone to pot with it's live-action stuff and awful shows. They also refuse to show any more eps of 3 fantastic shows: Totally Spies, Martin Mystery, and Team Galaxy (which never even had a chance to be popular).:crying: I also really miss the fantastic Canadian cartoon, 6Teen.:crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

The days of watching Saturday morning are slowly coming to an end.:crying:

Horrible sins? XD Wow.

Anyways, stuff happens guys. In the business world it's dog eat dog, meaning 4Kids simply was the top one in this case. That's what happens with businesses. I fail to see how this is inconsiderate.

I have to agree with you on this one Sketch. WB doesn't care that much about DCAU to give it a good slot over competitor Spidey(Is this the first time a DCAU and a Marvel cartoon aired relativitly close to each other?)

Because no one else wants to tackle Saturday mornings anymore.

If this is truly what they want to do, then let them. I mean, I doubt anyone else wants to. Which is the reason 4Kids are the one taking it over.

Wow, I honestly didn't forsee KidsWB going away, and to be replaced with....4kids!? That's just wrong and kinda weird. I'm guessing 4kids may have to bring back some old shows such as Shaman King in order to fill 2 Saturday morning blocks? I'd see most of the premieres moving to the CW 4kids block for some reason.

I don't see how it would be. It's not like 4Kids will have a monopoly over the Saturday morning market. They'll still have plenty of competition from ABC Kids, not to mention Nick, Disney, and CN.

Translation. Duuurrrppp... we wanntie more monies! Duhhhh.. I know. Let's make dumb decision! Everybody am happy....

By the way... rich heritage...blah blah blah... emmy awards...blah blah blah... we have faith in this robber baron we hired that will contune to bankrupt us with her s***brain.

We'll continue to pretend to care about our fans and just give the idiot public what they think they want for years to come.

Did we mention money?
