most upsetting scene in a movie

Im not saying that it was in any way a fantastic movie but some of the scenes were a bit too "realistic" for my liking and if i knew how to put spoilers in i'd tell you which one! But i dont want to ruin it if anyone else did want to see it!
 
these scenes made me cry:

Braveheart ending
Titanic when Jack dies
when Mufasa dies in the Lion King and Simba is all sad
Romeo and Juliet when they die at the end
Forrest Gump when Jenny dies (i know she was a skank but he loved her)
 
I can't bring myself to watch The Green Mile as my daughter watched it at my parents one night and when i picked her up she started to tell me about it... then became inconsolable (in the back seat, on the motorway, where i couldn't help her!!)... she was sobbing her heart out saying 'he didn't like the dark..' over and over again!! Put me off for life.
(Yes, people say its good/more to it than that/should give it a go etc... my husband even bought the video in a charity shop recently FOR ME as it's no a standing joke!!)
 
I think the problem I had with the film is that I just didn't connect to the charactes and because of that I really didn't care about what happened to them.

Conversley with Saw I understood the motives behind all of what happend even thought the leg scene was strong you got to understand why

but thats just my take on it

Oh and the end of Return of the King always geets me
 
Most of these were great movies(few spoilers if you havent seen movies)

Once were warriors - where he really beats up his wife so bad, I thought he was going to kill her

Nil by Mouth - Cathy Burke beaten up and almost hospitalised I felt physically sick

Song for a Raggy boy - there's a scene where the priest flogs a very young boy and kills him - probably the worst thing I have EVER seen. Couldnt get the image out of my ehad - HORRIFIC.

Boys Dont Cry - where the 2 deadbeats rape Hilary Swanks character towarRAB the end, it ws so animalistic.

Monster where she almost gets raped near the start of the movie and enRAB up murdering him.

Lyla 4 Ever the whole thing really, I was left with such a feeling of despondency and futility after watching it.

Requiem for a Dream - the scene where the 2 girls are being watched by all the guys. It was such a disturbing image so much so I havent been able to pluck up the courage to watch the movie again, although it is a really good film.

Crash - where Matt Damon abuses his position of policeman with Thandie Newtons character. It just got me, one of the most degrading things I've watched.


It's clear I have a major problem with violence and sexual abuse, the thing is so many of ther really good moveis have these scenes in them, I would end up miussing out on some fatntastic films if I was to avoid such topics completely.
 
I nearly needed therapy after seeing that! The last ten minutes or so *really* disturbed and affected me.

Also - the scene in Saw 2 where a woman gets thrown into a pit full of used hypodermic needles really made me wince.
 
I agree, you need to see it. It's one of those films everyone neeRAB to see, changed my perspective on quite a few things.
But anyway, my most upsetting scenes...

- THE electrcution in The Green Mile
- Freddie Highmore crying in Finding Neverland, I think its very true to children of that age, they want to be talked to like adults, but they are young and their parents want to protect them
- The Butterfly Effect, Ashton Kutcher's realisation that for everyone he loves to be happy, he must die.
- Pearl Harbour, my god so many..poor Danny, she never really loved him!!
- Dumbo, when he can't see his mum! And he sits on her trunk and they play the 'Baby of Mine' song..that's the closest they will ever be allowed to get! :cry:
 
Watching a young Christopher Reeve in Superman, with foreknowledge of the horrific events to come a few years later: Superman IV:The Quest for Peace

Seriously though: Irreversible wins hanRAB down. Made me feel quite sick. I love horror and thrillers and am pretty tough when it comes to movies but that was a bit too much, I think. I thought Wolf Creek was a bit harsh too. That bit in American History X where Edward Norton makes the black guy bite the pavement - Nasty. Great film though.
 
I have to agree with the others who said the rape scene in The Hills Have Eyes. It was really disturbing to watch and had all of the cinema watching in terror. The whole scene with the rape, the father buring in the tree and the baby and mother being terrorised is the most upsetting I have ever seen.
 
Zombie Flesh Eaters! Great film!!!!

To answer the question, anything with rape in it makes my skin crawl. Even a few seconRAB, or just a suggestion.
 
Any scenes with rape, child abuse or animal cruelty. But I also find the increasing bullying and intimidation suffered by Gomer in Full Metal Jacket really difficult to watch - Vincent D'Onofrio is an awesome actor.
