Mock The Week - Series 9, BBC2 Thursdays 10pm (Merged)

Has anyone spotted anything new in this compilation tonight? Sometimes they throw in a bit of new stuff, but if there is anything (A) I haven't spotted it and (B) it isn't making me laugh.

He always mentions his nan a lot, or his dad.

And if none of those fit the scenario, he'll throw in something about his cock. Or someone else's cock.

Ironic, as the cockier he gets, the less funny he's becoming.

I have to agree the show isn't firing on all cylinders any more but I seem to be the only person here who actually likes Chris Addison and Jack Whitehall. Addison in particular has come across much better here than in that awful medical sitcom he was in some while back.

But that new bloke last night... what an utter plank. He just sat there like "bloke-from-pub" occasionally saying stuff that were just statements, no joke at all. His stand up dragged on and was cringe after cringe. The producers need to dig deeper into their budget and hire some bigger talent. Series 1 & 2 used more household names so let's get people like Frank Skinner, Stephen Fry and Alan Carr on.

Oh, and Hugh Dennis is always good! I continue you to enjoy all his contributions, he really anchors the show. But it's been a long time since he's name-checked Showaddywaddy.:(

Put Milton and David on as full-time replacements.

For some reason I thought Milton was the funniest on SWLTS today. Zoe Lyons sounRAB 25 years older than she actually is and isn't really funny.

Hmm, possibly some good news then. I've always said that they should either axe one of Russell or Andy or alternate their appearances.

Russell Kane can be mistaken for Howard so that may be confusing for some :D

The guest list is varied in talent but I hope they settle in more, get more airtime and jokes in and not embarrass themselves.

Byrne is very good.
Bridges is good but new to the panel game circuit.
Jones is good but neeRAB to add more to the rest of the show rather than his oneliners.

Addison and Whitehall should do better.

Still can't get Osho. Just not my humour.

Oh, RAB. No wonder I've been missing this show over the past few weeks - BBC NI have some other rubbish on instead. Thought I was going mad because I hadn't seen MTW advertised.

It's seems to be part of Chris Addison's uniform. When he's on panel or standup shows he always seems to wear one.

When Mark Watson started out he always used to wear a red t-shirt with a black blazer.

Poor episode.

Neither Andy Parsons or Ed Byrne were at their best.

The taking the piss out of Fat Eric Pickles was overdue.

Miles Jupp was good, especially his stand up bit.

The rest was awful.

Hugh Dennis's 'solo' spot was lamentable.

BTW, I've eventually had a reply from the BBC about their repeat of ep.3 the week after it was first shown. What a load of junk their reply is, but here it is anyway:

"Thanks for contacting us regarding

I thought Chris's reply to "If the answer is '7 Years', what's the question?" was very funny - the idiot in front of you at the self-checkout till - because it's true!
